New AG Under FBI Investigation

He should not have any oversight over Mueller given the highly prejudicial comments he had made.
... in a normal world....
.

What specific prejudicial comments has Whitaker made?

All I can find are comments he made stating the Mueller investigation cannot investigate matters outside the scope memorandum and he details going after TRUMP's finances as being outside the scope of the investigation. I'm pretty sure neither you nor anyone else on this site has seen the unreacted scope memorandum, unlike Whitaker who most certainly has.
Even taken in a vacuum, Whittaker's comments on this matter indicate a clear prejudice that just happens to coincide with what Trump has been saying for two years.

Worse, taken in context, including Trump's general behaviors and other comments Whittaker has made on other topics, this looks pretty obvious.

Of course, right wingers won't "see" a thing, no matter what, which is standard operating procedure for myopic partisans on both ends of the spectrum.
.

No TRUMP has said the Mueller investigation is a witch hunt from the beginning. Whitaker has said if the special council works outside the scope memorandum it would be a witch hunt. Mueller is leading a special council not an independent investigation.

There are multiple issues with Whittaker. For one, two senate confirmed individuals in line for succession were bypassed in favor of an individual openly hostile to the investigation. This is unprecedented and disturbing, it is also questionably legal and erodes the DoJ’s legal impartiality. You ought to be concerned. The investigation is necessary, thorough and close to winding up.

It is ironic that the people who were gung-ho on endless limitless Hilary investigations, who gave Ken Starr broad authority to exceed his mandate are suddenly squeamish about investigating Trump. Why?

As for things Whitaker had said:

New acting A.G. criticized Mueller probe several times

...Whitaker declared that Russia did not collude with Trump‘s 2016 campaign, although Mueller has yet to release a report on the findings of the investigation.

...Whitaker, while speaking about whether Trump was trying to oust Sessions at the time, said during an interview that he believed that what Trump was “going to start doing is putting pressure on [Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein, who is in charge of this investigation, is acting attorney general, and really try to get Rod to maybe even cut the budget of Bob Mueller and do something a little more stage-crafty than the blunt instrument of firing the attorney general and trying to replace him.”

He later added: “I could see a scenario where Jeff Sessions is replaced, it would recess appointment and that attorney general doesn’t fire Bob Mueller but he just reduces his budget to so low that his investigations grinds to almost a halt.”

...During an interview on CNN, Whitaker called on Rosenstein to intervene in Mueller’s investigation into Trump Organization finances, adding that he thought Mueller would be “crossing a red line.”

....Whitaker tweeted out an opinion article questioning whether Trump could fire Mueller, adding that it’s “worth a read.”

The article, published by POLITICO Magazine, notes that if “Sessions is replaced as attorney general, then his successor would not be recused, and could either gin up good cause to fire Mueller or (more likely) rescind the good-cause requirement and then terminate him.”

....In a tweet, he criticized the FBI’s raid of the home of Paul Manafort, who served as Trump’s campaign manager. Manafort was indicted for obstruction of justice and witness tampering in June, and was later convicted of bank and tax fraud charges.

“Do we want our Gov’t to ‘intimidate’ us? Hmm — FBI’s Manafort raid incl. a dozen agents, ‘designed to intimidate,’” Whitaker tweeted.

Taken collectively, it is disturbing given that he really should not be saying anything on it, as Mueller is doing.

Is Mueller exceeding his mandate? So far, finances seem to be at the root of it. Tax fraud, money laundering etc. where things are uncovered not directly related, they have been turned over to other authorities.

Why did you leave out these comments made by Whitaker about Mueller?

“There is no honest person that sits in the world of politics, in the world of law, that can find anything wrong with Bob Mueller,” he said, adding that if “something’s wrong with Bob Mueller,”

Rosenstein has also said the TRUMP campaign did not collude with Russia, when he made public comments regarding the indictment of Russia.

The comments about Manafort are interesting since they lead to Rosenstein revising the scope after Mueller started going outside of the scope. It seems Whitaker is saying Mueller needs to stay within the scope of the investigation.

Since democrats are so convinced TRUMP colluded with Putin or that in firing Comey TRUMP is guilty of obstruction, holding Mueller to the scope of the investigation shouldn't be an issue.

Because I linked to the article and you can easily see it all (and we can't post entire articles) - I chose the ones that were pertinant to the point I made. I am not convinced of collusion one way or the other, I've maintained the investigation must not be interferred with by partisan political figures. Mueller is a professional, he's also a Republican, so you can't accuse him of being political. He's been silent, thorough, and when evidence is unearthed that goes beyond his scope - he turns it over to others.

Whitaker also talks of defunding it - not limiting scope - but defunding and starving it.

There's a lot of reasons why he shouldn't be replacing Sessions but the fact that he was on the Board of Directors of a company that was scamming people (and which he took part in threatening those that complained) and was fined 25 million dollars is right there up front.

The guy is a crook...appointed to the highest law enforcement position in the nation...without the requisite Senate confirmation

So it’s clear, Whitaker is NOT under FBI investigation,

FBI Is Investigating Florida Company Where Whitaker Was Advisory-Board Member

FBI Is Investigating Florida Company Where Whitaker Was Advisory-Board Member

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting a criminal investigation of a Florida company accused of scamming millions from customers during the period that Matthew Whitaker, the acting U.S. attorney general, served as a paid advisory-board member, according to an alleged victim who was contacted by the FBI and other people familiar with the matter.

The investigation is being handled by the Miami office of the FBI and by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, according to an email sent to the alleged victim last year by an FBI victim specialist. A recording on a phone line set up by the Justice Department to help victims said Friday the case remains active.

OP is a liar.
Thanks for the distinction without a difference.

He was on the advisory board of a scam company (for which he used his considerable clout to scare away complainers) and he was PAID for that ...and they are under investigation by an agency he will now control.

Oh...

Sorry lush. But no love on your bullshit post. Nothing showing Whitaker names as being under investigation. Put the chub away.

Altering a poster's name in that way is an infraction. I suggest you refrain from that in the future...asshole

Trump and the trumptards would have it no other way.

New AG Under FBI Investigation
Didn't they do a background check when they hired these guys in the first place?

It was that Office of Personnel Management (OPM) got hacked, wasn't it?

They were running SAP, that German software, weren't they? All U.S. federal employees' personal information was leaked, fingerprints, DNA, detailed psychological profiles, clearance for access to classified information, everything, all on a single-point-of-failure unclassified computer system.

Katherine Archuleta, under the Obama administration, was nominally in charge of that department at that time, but things were clearly already long gone to seed there by the time she even stepped on board.

The Trump Admin doesn't seem to DO vetting. They appoint based on cronyism and loyalty
