Neat graphic on what happened since the Dems took congress

Prior to 2006, Republicans ran congress and there was a miserably hight unemployment rate of 4.6%. The democrats promised to do sometihing about that. This is a neat little movie about what they have achieved since they assumed control in January 2007.
Of course, the reality is there is a lot more going on than just who runs congress. Bush and Paulson really were asleep at the switch. But as a fun exercise in "post hoc ergo proctor hoc" it makes for some embarrassing watching for those who believed that a Dem congress would be a panacea.

Genuine progress in unemployment

Circumstance has a little to do with this also.

However, the Dems are fond of proclaiming that GWB was an idiot. During his first year there were airliners shot out of the air, the 9/11 attacks and 1 million jobs lost between 9/11 and January 1.

"The Idiot" got this turned around and exhorted the pride and ambition of the greatest country in the world to do it.

The Big 0 had a very similar situation and his respose was a tad less successful. I guess an idiot that produces good results is still not as desirable as a genius who fails at every single thing he tries. He laments the horrible situation and decries the various enemies of the people who are holding them back.

He tells the world and us that we are selfish thieves who now face a constant regression of fortune to a level that requires socialism to survive. There is no hope. There is no strength. There is no reason to strive. There is only the government and there is only the growth of government that can save us.

Surrender to fear. It is all the Big 0 has to offer.
