nearly a half million people spoke and the message is clear

Polls arent much more than reflections of voter recognition beyond a month out from the election. Too many voters simply do not decide until the last week who they will vote for to take polls from ten months out very seriously.

Obama vs. Generic Republican: Generic Republican +1.2
Obama vs. Romney: Obama +1.9
Obama vs. Paul: Obama +5.1
Obama vs. Santorum: Obama +9.8
Obama vs. Gingrich: Obama +11.0

I think it's fair to say that gives a pretty good indication of each candidates' electability.

I assure you, Democrats would LOVE to see Newt bump off Romney and snatch the nomination.

Im laughing..............

All the k00ks say is Gingrich doesnt have a chance in hell.........a non-factor........but this thread is only a few hours old and the k00ks are falling all over themselves trying to diss the 'non-factor"!!!:2up:

Thank God for the k00ks or we'd have no entertainment for a Sunday morning!!!

indeed........but our side is salivating at the prospect of 7 three hour debates with this fraud of a president. Off the charts anticipation!!!

A very compelling question becomes...........will Obama bring his teleprompter?

They don't care about the smear tactics of the left. The story about Newt was pushed 2 days before the election. More than enough time for the message to have any effect it could have had. Conservative Christians threw the garbage tactics out with the rest of the garbage.

It's quite clear the the left in power are desperate to make Romney the nominee and thus attacking everyone but him. Either they think he is easy to beat or they believe he would be the one least likely to undo whatever Obama has done if he wins. He is the least conservative and they are banking on him being the nominee for just that reason.

First we must win the ABR battle then onto the ABO battle.

Newt and Santorum are our hope.
According to what I read, Newt's attacks on Romney's wealth are what tipped the primary to Newt.

So the lobbyist that advised Fannie and Freddie, the lobbyist that cheated on his second wife and married another cheater after abandoning his ill first wife, the lobbyist that thinks wealth is bad is the current front runner of the Republican party.

The only income category Romney beat Newt in was the over 200,000 crowd.

It was a classic class warfare battle, won by in this case the 95%ers.

If you win the first battle, it is much less likely that you'll win the second.

edit - it should also be noted that of the "half million voters" ...

The electorate in South Carolina was overwhelmingly made up of conservatives and born-again or evangelical Christians. The electorate in Florida's Jan. 31 primary likely will include more who identify themselves as moderate and more secular—two groups that Mr. Romney did relatively well with Saturday. After Florida, the race moves north and west to less conservative states such as Colorado, Minnesota and Michigan. No southeastern states vote again until the March 6 Super Tuesday primaries.

Polls suggest that some South Carolina voters were uncomfortable with Mr. Romney's Mormon faith. Of the roughly 60% of voters who said religious beliefs of a candidate matter a "great deal" or "somewhat," 44% backed Mr. Gingrich, a Roman Catholic, and only one-fifth voted for Mr. Romney.

Exit polls indicated that the attacks on Romney didn't have much of an effect.

Mr. Romney's time running private-equity firm Bain Capital came under increased criticism during the run-up to the South Carolina primary, but the attacks didn't seem to stick. More than two-thirds of South Carolina primary voters surveyed said they held a positive view of Mr. Romney's experience as an investor. But those that had a negative view overwhelmingly backed his rivals.

Why is that compelling?

He didn't need one in 2008 or at the health care summit. How foolish of you to think that Obama can't think on his feet and debate well.

It's going to hilarious to see your reaction when Obama get reelected....if you actually show your face around here again that is.

 Repubs hate Romney. The emotionless Mormon got his ass handed to him. Go, Newt, go!! Guaranteed victory for Obama.

They are.... if you completely ignore the national polls that tell you that they are not your hope. That is Romney. Newt and Santorum might be the poster boys for the GOP, but the independents don't want either.

Just keepin' it real for ya. Nominate Newt, and lose. Good luck with it.

Perhaps.

I think it's a sad commentary on the religious right that they are so bigoted they won't support a Mormon.

This may be the very last time South Carolina is given so much weight as the picker of the Republican candidate.

Gramps,

What are you smoking? WE WANT NEWT!!!!!!! It is not even funny.

We think Obama will beat Romney as well......but Newt is an "own goal" for you guys.

obama will win because Republicans will not pull their heads out of the ass of the GOP party long enough to see that they are supporting two obama agenda supporters. The only reason they think Ron Paul is not electable is because they keep telling themselves the same old worn out message the GOP feeds them
Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt Ron Paul is not electable vote romney or newt

I don't trust Romney. I don't see how many could. Why do you think the left keeps pushing him? No thanks.

I have been very careful to not make any predictions. With the avg IQ of 95 across the country 115 for college graduates. Anything is possible.
