Nearly 1 In 5 Millennials Consider Joseph Stalin And Kim Jong Un ‘Heroes’

World History should be a requirement in high school...when I went to H.S. we had the OPTION of taking either World history or American History...I took world history but most in my high school chose American History....

I wish I had ALSO taken American History, along with world History...but you could not take both....

And Bernie is not Stalin, nor even close to him, for goodness sake!

The last step to Communism is Socialism. I find this poll very frightening.

Nearly one in five millennials consider Joseph Stalin and Kim Jong Un “heroes,” according to a Thursday poll.

The poll demonstrated an increase in acceptance of socialism and communism among American millennials and was released by the Victims of Communism Memorial Fund.

One-half of millennials and one-third of Americans would prefer to reside in a socialist or communist nation instead of a capitalist democracy, according to the poll.

“One in five (23%) of Americans age 21-29 consider Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin a ‘hero’; 26% for Vladimir Lenin; 23% for Kim Jong Un,” the study notes. Furthermore, over one-fifth of millennials surveyed had a positive opinion of Karl Marx.

The study also found that 71 percent of millennials could not pinpoint communism’s definition and four-fifths of the generation did not know how many lives were lost as a result of the ideology.

The question is, how do these people form their opinions? Where do these young people (not long out of high school) get their information from?

Before any of you leftists try to discredit the report, let me remind you that Bernie Sanders is an admitted Socialist, and he was a close second for the Democrat presidential nominee. Now we find out the only reason he didn't get the nomination is because the race was fixed against him. So this poll seems to reflect the election outcome.

If people are saying they would rather live in a government system they know nothing about, it can only mean one thing, and that is they were "told" how great such a system is. Who told them that?

I'm telling ya, we really need to do something about our education and social programs, and I don't mean throw more money at it.

and Donald trump and his minions love Vladimir putin... in numbers far greater than one in five.

although it's already proven that your numbers are lies, loony toon.

I had to learn World History from books checked out at the local library, and a few my parents had. My father and mother also explained many topics (I took American, no World History in the poor, rural high school then, now available.) The SOVIETS only joined the Allies because Hitler invaded! Per my Daddy.

Well about Putin the PResident in the past has said:

Do you think Putin will be going to The Miss Universe Pageant in November in Moscow - if so, will he become my new best friend?

“When I went to Russia with the Miss Universe pageant, (Putin) contacted me and was so nice. I mean, the Russian people were so fantastic to us,” he said on “Fox and Friends.” “I’ll just say this, they are doing – they’re outsmarting us at many turns, as we all understand. I mean, their leaders are, whether you call them smarter or more cunning or whatever, but they’re outsmarting us. If you look at Syria or other places, they’re outsmarting us.”

We just left Moscow,” Trump said. “He could not have been nicer. He was so nice and so everything. But you have to give him credit that what he’s doing for that country in terms of their world prestige is very strong.”

In the same interview, Trump praises Putin’s invasion of Crimea.

“Well, he’s done an amazing job of taking the mantle,” Trump said. “And he’s taken it away from the President, and you look at what he’s doing. And so smart. When you see the riots in a country because they’re hurting the Russians, OK, ‘We’ll go and take it over.’ And he really goes step by step by step, and you have to give him a lot of credit.”

80 times Trump talked about Putin

And you wonder why 1 in 5 young people can be fooled into thinking a strong dictator is not that bad...

THANK GOODNESS four in five millennial do NOT think they are heros!

Okay, but don't you think with this trend, it will eventually be four out of five unless we do something about it now?

Like what? Use more and more propaganda to malign Democrats and support the Republican Party's Vituperation of liberals, progressives, minorities and anyone who rebuts the current iteration of conservatism?

No, Communist dictators stem from Czars, starvation, and lack of the study of History.

No, the question is, why do you RW'ers reject polls you don't like and worship those you do?

Q. "Why do you RW'ers reject polls you don't like and worship those you do?"

A. In two words: Hypocrisy and Mendacity.

Yes! Mendacity. A great word. Always makes me recall the great Burl Ives as Big Daddy in Cat in a Hot Tin Roof saying it in one of his lines.

The RW'ers are so shamelessly hypocritical about polls, that's what's so mystifying.

Okay, but don't you think with this trend, it will eventually be four out of five unless we do something about it now?

First, I don't think that poll is accurate.

Second, who would you consider a "hero" historically? One could make the argument Stalin saved the world from Hitler. Of course, Stalin also enabled Hitler, but so did the leaders of the west. A lot of Russians still admire Stalin.

`
`

I think the worst thing in that poll is 60% consider Ronald Reagan a hero along with 31% who consider Trump a hero. - Source
`
Only 31 percent think of our current president as a hero

How pathetic

Correct, it is pathetic how the MSM are able to brainwash people. We have the lowest unemployment since 2000, the highest consumer confidence since 2002, better results on our borders, decreasing government dependency, yet these polls show negative results.

For their fashion sense if nothing else.

The shittiest people really are the best dressed. Look at the Nazis. I'd look the other way as an entire people are exterminated for one of those uniforms.

Because Liberalism is closer to Communism than it is to Nazism?

So do I. But given what a shit sandwich Capitalism has become for Most Americans, you shouldn't be surprised.

So a millenial who just paid $60,000 and put himself into debt for the rest of his life thinks Capitalism sucks and socialism might not be such a bad idea.

Whose fault is that again?
