“Where I think political correctness got in the way of what we all knew as reporters and didn’t fully deliver was how hated the Clintons were in the heartland,” the “Meet the Press” host admitted Thursday to former Bush White House press secretary Ari Fleischer in a interview for the “1947” podcast.

“And I think it was a fear of, ‘Oh, is it going to look like it’s sexist, anti-woman if we say that?’” he added, pointing out that on the hustings he saw numerous “Hillary for Prison” signs adorning the front yards of rural America.

“I think we underplayed it a little bit out of political correctness fears,” Mr. Todd said. “No member of the press corps wants to look like they’re singling out a group and making a group feel bad, right, whatever that [group] is."

Chuck Todd: Media knew how ‘hated’ Hillary was in heartland and we ‘underplayed’ it

First comment says it all...

Except for conservative Christians, gun owners, cops, middle class white people and the other deplorables that liberals despise.

Add hunters, climate change skeptics, Southerners, Pro-lifers....the list goes on and on.

As they say in here in the Heartland...Sorry Chuck, but that dog won't hunt.

Translation - We were all in the bag for Hellary and lied our socialist asses off.
Trump has gotten nearly $3 billion in ‘free’ advertising

The media was actually in the bag for Trump. Playing all his speeches, day after day.

And Chuck Todd, the worst. I've written about him a half dozen times. He never could say Hillary Clinton without saying she's unlikeable, untrustworthy and dishonest. Every time he said he name he said one of those.

I said in August I thought Trump would win. Then he had so much help. Three billion free air time from the media, Chuck Todd, Chris Mathews constantly calling her dishonest, the FBI, Russia, and of course the GOP.

I don't believe I ever saw a Hillary speech from beginning to end. I can't think of one. They always cut her off and then say she can't get her message out.

Trump has been a boon to the media. All the ratings have gone up. Newspapers and magazines have been selling out.

And after all that, she only lost by 73,000 votes total across three states. That's razor thin.

The thinner the cut, the better the meat. Not to mention, thin cuts are more difficult in which to stop the bleeding. Do you have a point for that post?

The "heartland" can afford to do something like hate the Clintons and support a lunatic. The "heartland" doesn't have the looming threat of terrorism or foreign attack hanging over their head. They can afford to have someone like Trump be President, because when the world retaliates it's New York City or LA or D.C. that will see people die. And that's why you felt okay voting for Trump.

Oh, that's why. I wondered.

Quick question, were you at the last mind reader's convention? I don't remember seeing you there. Maybe you didn't get the psychic memo.

Let's review....first it was Bernie, then Comey, then Wiki, then the Ivans, then Willy's bimbo eruptions, then Matt Lauer, then Weiner, then Comey again, then a recount, then send the EC electors death-threats, then riot at the Inauguration, then boycott Trump's cabinet. Yesterday I read now they're blaming Obama and today it's desperate housewife, Chucky Todd. Who's next, tingle-leg Matthews, Ellen Degenerate, global warming? :disbelief:

The Clintons knew this. Do you think dopey Chuck Todd came to some sort of revelation that had escaped Hillary?

But I blame them for not putting up a better defense all these years. They wrote it off as whacko Rush Limbaugh trailer trash rumors, not realizing that large parts of America is trailer trash.
