NBC- Romney lied about oil on public lands. Obama RIGHT

Romney said oil production on public lands is down 14%. That is for ONE YEAR, the year after the Gulf oil spill. Actually, it is UP 13% since 2008, and the most ever. What a lying AZZHOLE.

JUST LIKE ON EVERYTHING ELSE. WHAT A DISGRACE.

Since what Romney said was true, it obviously wasn't a lie. Oil production on federal lands for 2011 is down 14%, and it is going to go down further over the next three years.

What was a lie was Obama trying to take credit for production he had no control over. The increased production in 2009 and 2010 were the results of leases and permits that the Bush administration acted on. It takes two to three years to bring a well into full production, after the leasing and permitting.

What we are seeing in 2011 is the results of the Obama administration refusing to lease lands, and slow walking drilling permits. This will cause production decreases in 2012, 2013, and possibly 2014.

If Obama is reelected, oil and gas production on federal lands will continue to decline as the administration will use every action possible to stop drilling on federal lands.

Drilling overall has gone up more over the last 4 years than in the previous 8, nut of course know-it-all Mitt Romney has to harp on the fact that drilling on federal lands went down one year. Just what we need, an obnoxious know-it-all ass hole in Romney as President.

Like him or hate him, President Obama has done a good job in terms of getting oil drilling permits moving along.

You are so wrong, that is is obvious that you don't have a clue. Oil and gas production increased in 2009, and oil production increased in 2010. Gas production decreased in 2010 and 2011. None of the increased production of 2009 or 2010 is a result of anything that Obama did. The Bush administration offered those leases and permitted the drilling.

2011 is the first full year of production under the Obama policies, and production of both gas and oil are down. The declines will continue for at least two more years, and will continue beyond that, if Obama is reelected.

As Obama explained, the NUMBER of leases makes NO difference, as many lessees don't actually drill at all.

Oil production on public lands is UP 13% under Obama. Romney and the Pub propaganda machine and YOU are absolutely FULL OF SHYTTE, and a disgrace.

Because those companies sit on the leases. Not drilling helps keep oil and gas prices high. They make more money not drilling. Just pay for the lease and the artificially high prices make it worth not drilling.

Failed your economics course I see. Sorry about that.

Thanks for playing. Obama concurred on that number . Obama argued that the leases were taken back because the lesees did not use the land for exploration, "use it or lose it". Which in and of itself is nonsense because the company leasing the land PAID FOR THE LEASE.
Romney actually missed a chance at a home run on this. He should have pointed out that just one in 100 leases ever turns out to be productive.
The other miss was when Obama said " I am all for oil gas and coal".. Romney should have brought up Obama's remarking " If coal companies build new plants they will go bankrupt" ..Under my plan electrical rates would necessarily skyrocket"..
I would be comfortable with $4 gas"..
And Romney could have knocked out of the park the Steven Chu quote about gasoline in the US should be the price it is in Europe.
If you lefty Obama sycophants do not think the American people remember this and all the shit Obama has done to this country, you are mistaken.

Interesting article.

Paging Mr. Oil, Mr. Gas, Mr. Coal: Obama on Energy | RedState

"But “here’s what I’ve done since I’ve been president”? Sorry, Mr. President, but you didn’t build that. Mr. Romney is correct when he says that substantially all of the increase in production has been on private lands under state, not federal jurisdiction. And to the extent that there was an increase in oil production from federal leases in the first two years of your term (2009, 2010), that’s attributable to a few new deepwater offshore fields. The work to make that happen occurred on your predecessors’ watch. (Source: the line labeled “Federal Offshore (PADD 3)” at the above-cited link.)

Natural gas production is the highest it’s been in decades.

TRUTH: In fact, natural gas production is at an all-time high. (Source – see the line “Marketed Production”.) Why? The shale boom, and that’s due to private investment on lands under state jurisdiction. Natural gas from federal lands has been falling steadily for years.

And all these things have contributed to us lowering our oil imports to the lowest levels in 16 years. …

[Later] And the proof is our oil imports are down to the lowest levels in 20 years.

The volume of oil imports in 2011 were at the same level as 2000. (Source.) Expressed as a percentage of total consumption, however, the 2011 share of imports was back down to 1995 levels. (Source.)

Here’s one that really gets my goat:

OBAMA: Here’s what happened. You had a whole bunch of oil companies who had leases on public lands that they weren’t using. So what we said was you can’t just sit on this for 10, 20, 30 years, decide when you want to drill, when you want to produce, when it’s most profitable for you. These are public lands. So if you want to drill on public lands, you use it or you lose it. And so what we did was take away those leases. And we are now reletting them so that we can actually make a profit.

ROMNEY: And production on private — on government land –

OBAMA: Production is up.

ROMNEY: — is down.

OBAMA: No, it isn’t.

TRUTH: Yes, it is.

But as for the “whole bunch of oil companies” who sat on leases for “10, 20, 30 years”… man, where did that come from? The concept of “squatting”, while it may be commonplace in Chicago tenements, is unknown in the oil patch.

The fact is, oil and gas operating rights are strictly defined in the legal document, the oil and gas lease, wherein the owner (in this case, the federal government) grants another party the exclusive rights to explore and develop the oil and gas underlying a tract of land.

ummmm, no.

You are a freaking retard to start a thread when you haven't a clue.

LOL

USE it or fucking LOSE it!!!!

Use or lose 'PRIVATE LAND'? You are more retarded than I thought.

CBS just dubbed Obamas claim that oil production is up, his biggest lie of the night :)

What's CBS, the Christian BS? You are totally FOS, dupe.

Wow..Suddenly CBS, which is committed to the reelection of Obama and is committed to the liberal side of news and editorial, is a Christian biased network?
Did you ever ask yourself why yo have so many dissenters on this forum?
Do you not ever tire of being wrong all the time?

Just How True Were Mitt Romney

Gee, Martha, look at this! Federal land production down 4 out of the last 5 Bush years. 16.8% net decrease.

Up 2 out of 3 Obama years, for an increase of over 10%.

So.....a 26% turnaround from Bush to Obama.

Fucking pwned, lackeys.

"As the nonpartisan PolitiFact pointed out in April, the average oil production for the first three years of Obama’s presidency is a 13 percent increase over the average production over the last three years of the George Bush administration.

PolitiFact found that between 2004 and 2008 (during the Bush years), oil production on federal lands and waters also fell in four of five years. That resulted in a net decrease of 16.8 percent. On the contrary, from 2009 to 2011, during Obama’s tenure, oil production grew two of three years, resulting in a net increase of 10.6 percent."

Not true. All operators in the Eagle Ford are stacking rigs because of uncertainty.

North Dakota Boomtown Suffers Growing Pains Trying to Keep Up with Demand

As domestic oil production increases, towns like Williston, N.D., struggle to meet demand for workers, housing and improved infrastructure. For some communities experiencing the benefits of an energy boom, rapid expansion comes with serious trade-offs. Ray Suarez reports.

JEFFREY BROWN: Tonight, we begin a series on the changing landscape of energy in the U.S. and the consequences of ever-increasing development.

Ray Suarez is our guide this week. Tonight, he visits the booming economy in western North Dakota, where new drilling technologies have opened up massive oil reserves.

What's your point?
BTW, 90% of the new energy harvesting is in the form of fracking for natural gas.
Not oil.
Obama cancelled Keystone. He refused to allow any new exploration for new offshore oil reserves. He ran 33 deep water oil rigs out of the Gulf of Mexico. He told Hugo Chavez that the US would be Venezuela's best oil customer.
Obama welcomed the opportunity to do oil business with Brazil.
Examples of Obama ruling by executive fiat
Obama unilaterally decided to cancel all oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and then fleeced BP out of $20 billion.

Obama unilaterally declared that by 2025 CAFE standards would be 57 MPG fleet wide. No exclusion for light trucks.

Obama tried a massive wool pull over the eyes of the American people last night by saying he was "all for gas oil and coal"...That is a HUGE lie

No stupid....Oil companies go in and test sites for viability. If they do not pan out,
there is no drilling. If they do show production, the market determines whether or not drilling will commence.
No business it it's right mind would produce a product at a loss.
There is no sense in producing to the point where that production results in a surplus of product.
Idiot.

Romney tried to get an answer about production on private lands but Obama asked Crowley to cut off Romney and she obliged.
Obama is no more interested in the production of fossil fuels than he is in seeing his kids go to public school.

Explainer: Is Oil Production Really Down 14 Percent? - WNYC

Gee, Martha, look at the year 2010! The most oil produced domestically in one year over the last decade, higher than any single year under George W. Bush.

But hey, let's focus on how oil production in 2011 was still ahead of the average, but under the unfortunate circumstance of coming the year after A RECORD OIL HAUL under President Obama.

Fucking retards.

Mitt Romney's such an imbecile.
You post does not dignify a response.
If oil production was as you state, gas would be $2 a gallon.
Instead it's twice that.
Just as the Obamabots claim 5 million new jobs have been created so goes the story about "record oil haul"....Both bullshit stories.
Go try to fool someone else.

Production is up, but not on Public Oil & Gas Leases...

It's Private Leases that have increased production domestically, Eagle Ford Shale (largest domestic play since Prudhoe Bay), Bakken Shale, Barnett Shale Combo Play, Marcellus Shale...

The facts are Obama has tried to STOP domestic production growth...

Do you have a clue who you're supporting???

Interpol, you are demonstrating a complete lack of logical argumentation. You point at the effect and then, with absolutely no rational argument, say President Obama is the cause. Why don't you give us examples of substantive steps President Obama has taken which has caused the boom in oil production. So far your only argument is, "He happens to be President right now."

FACTS!!!
Obama wasn't President WHEN THOSE LEASES were granted... GUESS WHO???
That evil Oil President BUSH!!

It takes about 5 to 10 years to get a Federal lease, then explore and one of seven holes will be productive start producing!
ALL the leases that are producing MOrE OIL were granted under BUSH!

NOW Romney was pointing OUT LEASES that were granted!
FACTS sir...
Under Bush.. from 2006 to 2008 15,095 new leases!
In 3 years new leases under Obama 5,568 new leases

NEARLY 3 times the new Federal Leases under Bush then Obama !

Listen, dingbat, CBS bends over backwards to be fair to you RW shytteheads. Let's see a link- THERE ISN"T ONE, because Romney was FOS, oil production is UP period, on Public AND private lands,
leases are irrelevant to production
, and Romney's 14% decline is for the ONE YEAR after the Gulf oil spill- IT'S A LIE, HE WAS WRONG. Do you want a diagram?

The reason "I have so many dissenters here" is this forum is 2/3 to 3/4 brainwashed RW Pub dupes like YOU. JFC! LOL
