NBC- Romney lied about oil on public lands. Obama RIGHT

As Obama explained, the NUMBER of leases makes NO difference, as many lessees don't actually drill at all.

Oil production on public lands is UP 13% under Obama. Romney and the Pub propaganda machine and YOU are absolutely FULL OF SHYTTE, and a disgrace.

Because those companies sit on the leases. Not drilling helps keep oil and gas prices high. They make more money not drilling. Just pay for the lease and the artificially high prices make it worth not drilling.

Romney said oil production on public lands is down 14%. That is for ONE YEAR, the year after the Gulf oil spill. Actually, it is UP 13% since 2008, and the most ever. What a lying AZZHOLE.

JUST LIKE ON EVERYTHING ELSE. WHAT A DISGRACE.

Since what Romney said was true, it obviously wasn't a lie. Oil production on federal lands for 2011 is down 14%, and it is going to go down further over the next three years.

What was a lie was Obama trying to take credit for production he had no control over. The increased production in 2009 and 2010 were the results of leases and permits that the Bush administration acted on. It takes two to three years to bring a well into full production, after the leasing and permitting.

What we are seeing in 2011 is the results of the Obama administration refusing to lease lands, and slow walking drilling permits. This will cause production decreases in 2012, 2013, and possibly 2014.

If Obama is reelected, oil and gas production on federal lands will continue to decline as the administration will use every action possible to stop drilling on federal lands.

I agree.

It was so fucking annoying to have to sit there and listen to Romney act super confident in his bullshit, know-nothingness.

And every time he kept lying, the President was like, "That's untrue Governor!".

You can't trust Mitt Romney. Period.

Drilling overall has gone up more over the last 4 years than in the previous 8, nut of course know-it-all Mitt Romney has to harp on the fact that drilling on federal lands went down one year. Just what we need, an obnoxious know-it-all ass hole in Romney as President.

Like him or hate him, President Obama has done a good job in terms of getting oil drilling permits moving along.

That's incorrect.

And on the Keystone pipeline, another bald-faced Romney lie, the President held it up for 1 year because Nebraska Republicans asked him to, since it was supposed to end up cutting through that state's aquifer, which only carries 80% of Nebraska's water.

There's nothing worse than watching know-nothing Republicans on the national stage make fools of themselves. This is a great country, and it deserves serious to manage it, not a bunch of clueless ass holes who act overconfident all the time, but who know nothing.

No, it hasn't.

Oil production from within America is up faster under this President than under oil man George W. Bush.

Suck it.

In the last 4 years, there's more oil being produced in America and less coming from overseas.

Own it.

The increase in production is occurring on private and state lands, the use of which is much harder for O to restrict. Your misinformation not withstanding. Own it.

You are a freaking retard to start a thread when you haven't a clue.

Permitting and leasing for these wells is done years before they come on-line. Producible and wells actually producing is two separate issues. We have over 200 wells that have been drilled in the last three years from permitting in 2003-2008 that aren't being produced right now.

Right. PUBLIC LANDS, as in title. Changed it now.

Does it bother you that EVERYTHING your azzhole candidate says is a lie, MORON?
Does it bother you that President Obama can't claim unemployment insurance in January for getting dumped at the polls, francoHFW?

Awwww.

Explainer: Is Oil Production Really Down 14 Percent? - WNYC

Gee, Martha, look at the year 2010! The most oil produced domestically in one year over the last decade, higher than any single year under George W. Bush.

But hey, let's focus on how oil production in 2011 was still ahead of the average, but under the unfortunate circumstance of coming the year after A RECORD OIL HAUL under President Obama.

Fucking retards.

Mitt Romney's such an imbecile.

That is pure nonsense. Oil is priced on a world market, and opening up a few wells would not affect the price of oil. Oil companies, like any other enterprise, work where they think they will get the best results with the least investiment.

A lease takes years of study, research, and exploration before the first drilling permit is ever requested. Many are taken on a speculative basis, with the hope of selling it to someone else, or waiting for someone else to put the money into an ajoining lease.

The facts are that the Obama administration has retracted a lot of leases, and let fewer leases. They also slow walk permitting, and that can bankrupt some small producers that have everything tied up in the lease.

Oil production on federal lands is dropping because of the Obama administration policies, and it will continue to drop for two to three years, even if Obama is sent packing. It takes time to bring production on line, after proper leasing and permitting is back in place.

I wouldn't call putting 10,000 workers in the drilling industry in the Gulf of Mexico anything to crow about, but you are definitely entitled to ignore and omit whatever you wish.

Also, replacing American workers in the Gulf of Mexico, Cuba, a Communist country, has invited their comrades in Russia and China to take up the slack. Both countries are now engaged in drilling just south of Florida. Additionally, Hugo Chavez has invited Russia to build a rocket launch station on his country's shoreline that has a direct shot at large population centers in the United States' gulf region.

Isn't weak Obama wonderful that this is going on while he goes golfing, never saying one solitary word--not a peep--to the American people about this series of travesties his unilateral shut down of American drilling industry in the Gulf has been.

10,000 American men and women and their families in the oil regions of the Gulf of Mexico may not be shoo-in voters for the Obama obfuscation machine.

Just How True Were Mitt Romney

Gee, Martha, look at this! Federal land production down 4 out of the last 5 Bush years. 16.8% net decrease.

Up 2 out of 3 Obama years, for an increase of over 10%.

So.....a 26% turnaround from Bush to Obama.

Fucking pwned, lackeys.

"As the nonpartisan PolitiFact pointed out in April, the average oil production for the first three years of Obama’s presidency is a 13 percent increase over the average production over the last three years of the George Bush administration.

PolitiFact found that between 2004 and 2008 (during the Bush years), oil production on federal lands and waters also fell in four of five years. That resulted in a net decrease of 16.8 percent. On the contrary, from 2009 to 2011, during Obama’s tenure, oil production grew two of three years, resulting in a net increase of 10.6 percent."
