Breaking: NBC Fires Producer Who Created False Zimmerman Audio | NewsBusters.org

The segment in question was shown on the “Today” show on March 27. It included audio of Mr. Zimmerman saying, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”

But Mr. Zimmerman’s comments had been taken grossly out of context by NBC. On the phone with a 911 dispatcher, he actually said of Mr. Martin, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.” Then the dispatcher asked, “O.K., and this guy — is he white, black or Hispanic?” Only then did Mr. Zimmerman say, “He looks black.”

Sad day for NBC but at least it's a baby step toward media accountability.

It's a CYA move. Funny how these "mistakes" never happen to liberals or their cadre of groups.

It's not enough. NBC should be fined by the FCC and then sued by the Zimmerman family.

Then you must also think Shirley Sherrod has a case against Breitbart TV. :doubt:

It was Fox News' Hannity, among others, who goofed that story, not Breitbart. It was also a deeply political move somewhere up the latter in the government. You would otherwise have to be a world class fuck up to get fired from a government job.

And not for nothing but Zimmerman should sue the NYT as well.

Well...........if FAUX Nooze fired everyone who made false reports, they'd have nobody to report their version of the news.

Okay then, that means that O'reilly, Hannity and all the other idiots at FAUX would be removed anyway.

Remember when they showed different clips of a Beck rally and tried to say that it was all one tape when it clearly wasn't? That was willful manipulation as well.

Tissue?

CNN also corrected its earlier mistake. The enhanced recording, while scratchy, has Zimmerman seemingly complaining about an unusually cold night in Florida the night he gunned down the teen and the word they thought was a racial slur was, in fact, "cold."

the leftist media has been caught hands down in the act that real Americans already knew !! lying and race baiting !! listen up lefty this case is not going to help Obama in 20012 !!!

NBC is still calling it a mistake begging the question: then why did you fire the guy?

Oddly enough the New York Times and MSNBC also made the same "mistake" as NBC. What a crazy random happenstance. Ooo baby baby it's a wild world.

NYT Zimmerman Edit Even Worse in Print Edition

They keep making the mistake of claiming a blurry video of Zimmerman proves he was uninjured......or that he was never handcuffed and booked.

They just made a mistake. Just sloppy I guess. :dunno:

When you are in trouble and your agenda is under attack what do you do? Fire a producer and pretend the case is closed. CBS fired the producer who authorized the forged documents about president Bush and CBS fired the producer who tried to incite a race war. The dirty little secret is that "producers" are a dime a dozen in the media industry. What happens next?

Well, since Fox never doctored tapes I guess you don't have a point.:muahaha:

"A mistake, not a purposeful act...." Yeah, right, and I believe in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, too.Mighty convenient "mistake" for a certain political agenda; but then I remember those supposedly "unbiased" reporters on NBC and CBS openly sobbing on the air, when Reagan swamped Jimmy Carter in a landslide in 1980. "Unbiased"? Don't make me laugh! "Mistake"? The only thing NBC is sorry about, is that they got caught with their skirts up and drawers down!
