Yet, you had pro-communist American journalists and diplomats sending reports back to the U.S. that Soviet Russia was a workers paradise, a land of equality, a land of progress, etc., etc.

Yes, actually there was a book written by a women who survived a Stalin labor camp, and she talked about how Cannibalism was actually amazingly common in almost all prisons and labor camps.

Food rations were far lower than what any adults, men or women, needed to survive as a normal operation.

However, when too many workers died, the soldiers would end up getting questioned about it. As a result many soldiers were actually in on the cannibalism as a normal, though unwritten obviously, policy. As workers became weaker and less useful, the stronger workers will kill the weak, since they would die anyway.

Might as well die now, while they still have meat on them.

This is what a G-dless, faithless, moral relativist society really looks like.

"Food rations were far lower than what any adults, men or women, needed to survive as a normal operation." you are 100% right, full Food rations gave GULAG prisoners no more than 1000 calories per day (but if you failed with plan, you´d get only 500) , meanwhile daily work recruited more than 2000 calories so its obvious that GULAG was designed by Bolshevik as extermination camps´institute
