Navy moves toward gender-neutral uniforms

Female Navy recruits are now being issued the Dixie Cup, which until now has been a traditional part of the male Navy uniform for Sailors E-6 and below.

Navy vigilance has always ensured that trade routes are open and has met threats to free trade with superior strategy and tactical presence, many times at great cost.

That imposing figure of sea power has been greatly diminished in recent years due to the current administration’s preoccupation with social justice and experimentation, a position our enemies, which include Russia, China, Iran, and a constantly growing number of Islamic terrorist organizations, openly mock. But never fear. Multiculturalism, diversity, and gender neutrality will save the day.

Those two women look pretty chunky. I have no clue what their rank is, but I presume they don't have to march, fight, haul gear because there is no way they could with all that blubber.

Meanwhile..yes. Give them all gender neutral uniforms. Also give them all the same gear, the same weights to carry in that gear, the same weapons, the same basic training in camp, the same everything that men have to do..with no exceptions. If the women pass, great!

I think they look sharp. And I like the mens two tone grey color.

AND they did something smart. They took the rating badge off of the rank, so someone can no longer look at a Sailors rank and see their rating ( Job - Military Speciality ) like before. This helps prevent those Sailors in intelligence - nuclear - communications , and security jobs from being targeted by an enemy agent at an airport, and / or from being kidnapped ; especially overseas.

The Citadel says no to hijabs

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Citadel military college, known for its buttoned-up uniforms and strict discipline, decided Tuesday that a newly accepted female student cannot wear a traditional Muslim headscarf if she enrolls in the fall.

The decision disappointed the student, according to a family spokesman who said they are considering legal options because they believe "it's the same issue faced by African-Americans and women in this situation."

The school didn't immediately embrace the first African-American cadets during the 1960s and fought the enrollment of women in the 1990s before relenting.

Commandant of Cadets Geno Paluso said allowing the student to wear the head covering known as a hijab wouldn't be consistent with the school's policy of having cadets look similar.
