Colombia, Guyana, and Brazil are almost overwhelmed with those fleeing the socialist disaster in their homeland.

The efforts are part of an 11-week humanitarian mission, with more stops planned in neighboring countries.

I think it’s people taking care of people. I’m a father, so I know if someone takes care of my wife or daughter I’m willing to (say) ‘hey, let’s make an impact.’ And I’ll tell you…I’ve been in command here for 18 months and I’ve had all but a dozen people come up to me, either civilian or now in the military, that said that either the Comfort or our sister ship, the Mercy, came to my country when I was 5 or 6 years of age and they came to America, because they wanted to be a part of a country that does great things like this.” — Kevin Buckley, Commanding Officer – USNS Comfort

Colombia currently hosts one million refugees, and the government said it could be hosting four million by 2021.

Hopefully it's being shadowed by a US attack sub, in case the Venezuelan government decides to distract it's people from their domestic issues with a foreign one.

Jesus. Columbia is hosting ONE MILLIONS refugees?

THAT'S a place for real asylum, and I support the use of US funds, and military ships to help.

Damn American Imperialism!

Venezuelans want to flee their dictatorship and the hardship that befallen their country due to the socialist economic policies. Colombia is next door, has a lot more opportunity, and is culturally similar to Venezuela in many ways so it's a natural emigration route. Peru, Argentina, and other South American countries are also taking on a lot of venezolanos, who have (had?) a relatively highly educated workforce. In Colombia it's not uncommon to encounter waiters or taxi drivers who were petro-engineers in Venezuela.

as I've stated time and again, the US gives the most charity/helps the world the most
...and jackasses try to tell us the US/Trump/etc is EVIL/racist for not wanting invaders in/etc?
