Another thread has presented this choice, but I think this is serious enough to take a poll.

We are all being subjected to either X-rays during a mandatory "scan", or a physical search by strangers. Why are we being subjected to this politically correct bullshit? Because the politically correct don't want to "profile" anyone.

What is wrong with "profiling"? NOTHING. Its a simple fact of reality, that certain segments of the population are more dangerous than other segments. The fact that we can't leverage that common-sense fact is moronic.

IMHO since we all need IDs to fly, it should be fairly simple to check if someone needs more scrutiny than others. I'm a frequent flyer with photo ID. I'd rather have a positive ID scan, such as fingerprints, faceprint, voiceprint, retinal scan.

The high-risk passengers should get a quick polygraph to detect "nerves" or deception. Then they should get cavity searched, and told not to fly.

The person's positive ID should be worth more than a random screening.

Fucking chickens. Just saw on CNBC that there is a push to allow frequent flyers to buy a background check to allow them to do a quick ID check and skip the x-ray scan or pat-down.
This allows more screening time for the higher risk passengers. Its an idea whose time has come. Do more screening of higher-risk passengers and leave the ID verified to a quick check.

Chertoff is going to make a killing from more than one new security measure being put in place at American airports.

Not only did he make money as a lobbyist in order to obtain stimulus money to be spent on possibly unsafe xray porno scans, he is also going to reap profits from a biometric verified ID system that will whisk you past long lines and undignified checks reserved for the unwashed peasants for the low price of $179.00.

He’s one of the investors that picked up the bankrupt company “Clear” at auction. This system appears to be already up and running in Orlando and is slated to open in Denver in Nov 2010

How many of you want to give those wetbacks an anal exam for all the stuff they tuck up there?:eusa_hand:

This time its not the wetback's drugs, its the SN's high-explosives tucked in there that bothers me, and the scans won't see it. I'd like those boyz to get a cavity check before boarding, or better yet, enforce the "no fly" list.

I'd buy one.

The poll choices are inadequate.

- Profiling so that resources are directed at likely suspects instead of this PC nonsense we have now.

IMHO the choices boil down to a national ID system such that profiling can be used, or we do this stupid treat everyone as a suspect and do a half-assed scan.

As part of the national ID we'd know which passengers are higher risk and need more attention...aka "profiling".

What does your having a national ID have to do with you not being a terrorist?

I would like a National ID.

Implantable/trackable would be even better.

Not needed. Your faceprint, fingerprints, voiceprints, and even retinal scan can have you pegged in a few seconds. A device can be copied or transplanted.
It just burns me that the TSA treats my kids the same way as someone from a terrorist country with a one-way ticket and no luggage, or a ticking "religiously protected" turban. Moronic system.

How about neither and I'll take liberty instead?

Ah the moronic..."terrorism is a hoax" rationale'...go back to your drugged stupor...

I didn't say terrorism was a hoax. I said I'd take neither option you offered and elect to keep my freedom instead. Try reading what I say next time, and not reading into what I say whatever nonsense you think appropriate.

How would a national ID stop the scans and pat downs? What you are talking about is a safe traveler program like customs uses at the border, not a national ID.

They already have a program to fit the bill.

Transportation Workers Identification Credential...or TWICs (pronounced twix).

I have one of these biometric, tamper-proof cards...you must have one to enter ports, rail yards and military bases unescorted.

TSA: Frequently Asked Questions

I don't think it should be a national I.D. program, but I do think TSA should make the program available as an alternative to the scanners and pat down.

For $150, the TSA does the same background check that is required to haul hazardous materials (like gasoline, propane, chlorine and explosives).

The card stores fingerprint data and uses a 6 digit pin number.

Call it the Travelers Identity Card. Swipe it, fingerprint check, PIN entered...bypass security.

Problem solved.
