It looks like Nascar is removing all con-federate flags from their venues and aggressively pursuing having no con-federate flags at their events.

Rednecks have to be scratching their heads trying to figure out how reality has finally caught up with them. Will this be the beginning of decline for Nascar and its use by neocons as a voting base recruitment activity? Will conservatives boycott Nascar events?

Since no confederate flags have a place in the paint schemes of the cars or logos of the teams, you just swung at STRIKE THREE, loser. When the fans bring out that flag, they'll still be there LOUD AND PROUD.

Uh, you can leave the vitriol in your bile duct, or can't you simply talk about something.

Nascar appears to be looking into ways to keep that flag from appearing ANYWHERE at their events. Including the in-field and anywhere else.

So if the issue is pushed there will be a clash between Nascar and the fans.

The answer is: Watch the next race to find out.

If NASCAR even tries to force fans not to display flags the ACLU will be forced to DEFEND the fans. Now that's a twist.

Unlikely.

It is an interesting twist though considering the average NASCAR fan. I don't see the reasoning behind this - it costs them money without any real point. They are just going to piss some people off and those that advocate for it really will not care. No one is going to stop watching NASCAR in any meaningful manner if there is a confederate flag on the field.

Not much of a twist, considering they defend you rubes far more often than you're willing to admit.

Going to be difficult to do since NASCAR does not own every track they use for racing...

Isaac probably hasn't experienced the thrill of going to the speedway in Charlotte or Darlington and sitting among all the rednecks pelting everyone sitting in front of them with chicken bones. Or stumbling over the carcasses of scores of sun-blistered tobacco farmers passed out drunk in the aisles before the race even starts. He'd have a different perspective.

If NASCAR even tries to force fans not to display flags the ACLU will be forced to DEFEND the fans. Now that's a twist.

And that is a good point and I think you are right.

Not sure why this is moved to 'sports'. Its a discussion of the confederate flag.
