Nader Wins Endorsement From Reform Party

Umm yeah, that's not socialistic  .

Well if increasing the influence and membership of low income (proletariat) worker's unions and initiating extravagant public works programs to create jobs and expand the central government while simultaneously placing restrictions on the freedom of capitalists isn't socialism, I don't know what is.

It certainly isn't why we established a federal government in the first place.

Well, I do (know what socialism is.) Hey Zhukov, socialism is collective ownership of the means of production and redistribution of wealth. Nader has never called for either of these, and has never obliquely implied them either. You don't know what you're talking about.

Higher taxes on the rich, or progressive taxation, is what Nader calls for and it is income redistribution. Do you deny this?

He has also euphemistically called for 'more democracy in our businesses' at the expense of board executives. Well what do you think that means?

Communism is in effect a pure democratic referendum governance.

Oh, but I do know what I'm talking about. I've studied marxism and bolshevism enough to know where Nader's ideas lead. I voted for him in 2000. Don't be fooled by the fact that he doesn't come out and say it explicitly. The word 'socialist' is still taboo in this country, but I know which way the man leans. And I can imagine what he would do with power.

Why did you vote for Nader?

Because I used to be a communist.

I admit with some reluctance that it still holds a certain amount of attraction to me. I've realized over time that communism is based on the way human beings aren't and can therefore never work. For a long time I irrationally believed that people were naturally good and generous, but that's not reality.

I admit I still hope against hope that perhaps sometime in the distant future human nature will have changed sufficiently to permit the creation of a egalitarian utopia.

Such is the bane of a visionary.

Well, the truth is that the youthful notion of wanting to make the world a better place ultimately finds it's fulfillment in the neocon movement, if one is honest about facts. The fact is that a succesfully tuned economy requires so many minidecisions that top down planning will never succeed. Free markets are the tool of satisfying human material needs and wants, a primary stated goal of the communists.

What's consistent in you is your desire to do good. People who remain liberals even after being exposed to right wing truths, only do so due to intractibility and/or inflexibility of thought.

I find it funny that insein calls Nader an idiot. I would love to see you get into a debate with Ralph. He would grind you up and spit you out. Just because the man is a flaming liberal and an egomaniac doen't mean he isn't extremely intelligent. Christ, he graduated summa cum laude from Princeton, dork.

Yep. His resume would decimate alot of us.
Add to that decades of consumer advocacy.
I voted for him in 2 thou. Wanted him to get his 5%...
