NAACP Makes War On Blacks

Just saw and interview on MSNBC, an NAACP spokesman expound as to the connections between drugs, blacks and education. As usual, the organization is right out front, excusing bad behavior, blaming society, explainsing how locking up perpetrators results in poorly educated children.

Liberals.

Not poor life choices such as having children out of wedlock, or being involved with illegal drugs, or lack of embracing education.....

Heck, what would black folk do without the NAACP?

Maybe fulfull their potential?

1. "The State of Connecticut spends $400,000 annually to incarcerate a juvenile and less than $10,000 to educate a child, according to a new report by The NAACP that examines escalating levels of prison spending and its impact on state budgets and children.

2.“ Misplaced Priorities: Under Educate, Over Incarcerate” shows a connection between high incarceration rates and poorly performing schools. The effort is part of the NAACP's “Smart and Safe Campaign,” an initiative designed to reform the nation's criminal justice system.

3. “We need to be ‘smart on crime' rather than ‘tough on crime' and address soaring incarceration rates in this country,” according to NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous. “Failing schools, college tuition hikes and shrinking state education budgets are narrowing the promise of education for young people all across the country.

4. ...in Houston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, more than 65 percent of the lowest-performing schools are in neighborhoods with the highest rates of incarceration.... recommendations that would help policymakers downsize prison populations and shift the savings to education budgets."

WOW. That's a lot of money to incarcerate a person. I'd suggest we go back to the Alcatraz model. I'm sure that would bring the cost of incarcerating these worthless criminals of all races and both genders down quite a bit. That or just execute the ones who are violent to begin with.

Incarcerating people is a big business, there are alot of private prisons out there and because the state and federal prisons are so full, they pay the private prisons to take inmates, and they are making bank. Last year I heard of a case where a Judge was sending Juveniles to a private prison on trumped up charges, one kid got sent there for fighting on a school bus, and in alot of these cases the parents of these children were poor and could do nothing to stop it. If you turn prisons into a business, of course we are going to have alot of incarcerated people.

Yes, I remember that case. He went to prison I believe....
But it's a huge leap from that case to "...If you turn prisons into a business, of course we are going to have alot of incarcerated people."

In any case, the point of the OP is that the NAACP is refusing to take on the root causes of the problem.
