N.R.A. Files Federal Lawsuit Katrina Mayor

More power to 'em. I don't know that I've seen a scenario in our time that embodies the spirit of the 2nd ammendment more than Katrina. Even in normal every day life we can't fully depend on the state to save us when we need to be saved. During Katrina that effect was even more so. You have a populace that could in no way depend on the protection of the state, yet the state felt the best course of action was to remove yet another means of defense.

Yeah, that was really a spectacular abuse of government power, and there isn't much of a way to square it with the Constitution. Maybe the lawsuit will go all the way up and we'll finally get a good 2nd Amendment ruling out of SCOTUS.
