N.Korea Took 'Gratifying Revenge' on South

Amid mounting speculation that North Korea was behind last month's sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan, a partisan to the Workers' Party in the communist state reportedly hailed the military for retaliating against the enemy.
Citing sources in the North, Seoul-based online newspaper Daily NK said a ruling party member at a factory in North Hamgyeong Province told his colleagues, "the heroic military has taken a revenge on the enemy and that South Korea is afraid of Pyeongyang's self-defense capabilities."
The Daily NK report added. seven out of ten North Koreans are believed to be aware of the ship sinking incident and most of them think their Navy was behind the explosion.

Problem is that it's very hard to sort out the BS propaganda from actual facts when it comes to North and South Korea. This could easily be a North Korean propaganda statement along the lines of "this is an example of what happens to those who try to invade our waters" implying that the North attacked the ship. But it could also be a bunch of hyperbole not so much that the North attacked the ship but that those who tempt fate with bad intentions "deserve" this sort of outcome. And it could also be rhetoric from the South to rekindle the "this is why we fight" aspect of the North vs South rivalry.

If they try to explode outward, they will be anhilated both miltarily and economically. Their economy as it is, is nearing stone age efficiency. Without China or Russia to support them, it is only a matter of time.

I've always believed it would implode before it explodes. Problem is that I fully expected this to happen ten years ago, especially when Kim Jong Il succeeded his father as the Dear Leader. I thought that a socialist state would reject the idea of family succession. I mean, after all, socialism was supposed to be the remedy to monarchies and other similar parochial states.

Guess I was wrong on that one.

The little money they have is invested in the Military. The Army's primary objective is to keep the people in line. Its secondary objective is South Korea
