"PYEONGTAEK, South Korea — North Korea on Friday returned the remains of what are believed to be U.S. servicemen killed during the Korean War, the White House said, with a U.S military plane making a rare trip into North Korea to retrieve 55 cases of remains.

The handover follows through on a promise North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made to President Donald Trump when the leaders met in June and is the first tangible result from the much-hyped summit. Trump welcomed the repatriation and thanked Kim in a tweet.

The United Nations Command said 55 cases of remains were retrieved from North Korea. The White House earlier confirmed that a U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft containing remains of fallen service members had departed Wonsan, a Northern coastal city, on its way to the Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, near the South Korean capital of Seoul. A formal repatriation ceremony will be held there Wednesday"

Is this something that Trump will get credit for? or just Kim Jong Un playing with Trump and the American public?

They probably created mass graves and these came from one they just dug up.
These will be taken to the Dover Mortuary for examination in an attempt to determine who each is. When the ID is made, attempts will be made to contact the survivors.

During Korea, military personnel filled out a form indicated who they wished to be notified in the event of death or injury. They still exist and will be used in the effort.

NK is doing the smart thing and buying time as it continues its launch and atomic upgrades.

I am happy for the families that have some idea now of what happened to their family member.

I am very pleased for those families who will get 'closure' from this.

And Trump definitely deserves credit for it.

But, NK has used SO many stalling tactics over the decades...this smells like yet another one of them to me.

I was stationed there in the 50's and every once in a while we would find a body. They were tearing down the olds terminal in Soul when they found four Air Police personel in the basement tied and shot in the back of the head. So you never know where they are.
