Yesterday evening we took a ride down to the lake and pond near my house, (about a mile and a half) then went in to town to get an ice cream cone from a parlor on Main Street....sat on a bench near the Penobscot River/Bay's edge...the ice cream joint is really not in my town, but a sister town that is only about 2.5 miles from where we live...and counted our blessing that we landed ourselves here, in this paradise spot, of Maine.

The lake and pond pics will be first and then the pics of the Penobscot and a nice little sitting area and walkway put in....it is a lovely spot, we sat there till the sun came down...took me that long to eat the ice cream cone, which was way too yummy for my own good!

ok, here is the Penobscot view, where we sat and ate our ice cream cones:

In this first pic, down low near the water's edge, past the picnic table, we sat on the bench on the right, that was wood, with a back and not ganite without a back as the bench in the middle....that's the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, fairly new, they had its opening the first year we moved here...the old bridge is still there in the background.

Look to the far right of this photo and you can see the edge of a green colored ice cream, Pistachio, that Matt is holding! :D
