My parents never smoked

Hell my mother smoked while I was in the womb.

I suspect she was popping pills too.

Yet she did not drink at all. This is why I became a drunk, I learned from her mistakes.

But she was a loving and attentive mother.

When I was a baby she used to put me on the dash board while she was driving so she could keep an eye on me.

Actually they did - but they gave it up sometime in their 30s.

That would be somewhere around the late 1940s, early 1950s.

My parents both smoked but after being pressured by myself and my sister, they gave up.

I asked my parents why they gave up smoking (before I was born) - and they said they just didn't like it.

Good reason.

Many of their friends smoked in school.

So in my opinion it was peer pressure and just wanting to fit it.

It's a nasty habit.

Even though they are all grown up and out of the house.

None of them will smoke in front of me.
