I know I don't face as high premiums as others, but nevertheless let me say the following:
-I am a completely healthy male in his 30s; I never see the doctor
-my premium was around 200 for the past year...and this for crappy bronze level coverage, deductible 6000, hardly pays for anything
-this year while going through obamacare, my premium for the same plan is....wait for it...373 dollars. That's right; nothing about me has changed but I'm a year older, and my premium has almost doubled...completely insane
-on top of that, searching through the alternatives, they only have some crappy providers and blue cross..only a few companies to even choose from

fortunately i may qualify for a tax credit, but still this is insane...somebody has to put a stop to this

you democrats are completely deluded if you think everything is fine and this had nothing to do with trump and the republicans winning

You haven't really given us information to make any judgements. Like, what is a comparable policy without going through an exchange? Too, if you never see a doctor that sort of deductible is irrelevant.

Hope and change brother, the hallmark of the Obama administration.

Soon. The only choice in Alabama will be Blue Cross and Blue Shield as Insurance companies jump off the Exchanges................

8 States Where Obamacare Rates Are Rising by at Least 30%

Alabama: 36%
Individual plan premiums from Blue Cross Blue Shield—the only company offering individual plans in the state in 2017—will rise an average of 36%next year. Roughly 165,000 Alabama residents bought insurance through the marketplace in 2016. The new price hikes come on the heels of BCBS increasing premiums 28% from 2015 to 2016 for individual plans purchased through the marketplace.

Georgia: 32%
Humana sought a price increase of a whopping 65% for individual plans sold on the marketplace in 2017, while other insurers planned smaller increases ranging from 7% to 44%. Altogether, the price increases will average 32% for 2017, according to ACASignups.net.

Illinois: 44%
Throughout Illinois, the price of health care premiums will increase 40% to 50%, on average, for plans purchased on the individual marketplace. Average price increases for mid-level Silver and the lowest-price Bronze plans are both increasing 44% for coverage in 2017.

You will pay less under Obamacare........

Is everyone in the streets demanding single payer yet?

Obama wants to know.

Is everyone in the streets demanding single payer yet?
After studying this issue intensely for several year, it seems to me like it's unavoidable. The current health care system in the USA is so FUBAR right now that it seems to me that the only alternative is single payer. Perhaps that was the Dems' plan all along. Screw up the health care system so bad that single payer is the only viable option to prevent a total collapse. Knowing how evil and scheming Democrats are, I wouldn't doubt it.

So I say "fuck it". Let's take the body blow to the ribs ,get it over with, and adopt single payer. After thinking it over, given the current state of affairs, just take the brutal hit, move on and fight the good fight. Socialized health care is inevitable anyways.

:dunno:

You are exactly who Obama had in mind to fund Obamacare. A young healthy person who doesn't need his insurance and who will pay for the millions of sick people that piled into the plan.

Yeah, and I don't get anything in return. I am pissing money away and will never see anything for it.

This isn't capitalism or socialism. This is state sponsored theft. And we are all the victims.

You could get that same plan for a lot less pre-ACA.
