Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in a communist - or, to be more precise, socialist country? Or how does it feel to be a part of such a dramatic political change like transformation of a communist country into a democratic one? I have this experience, it is a part of my identity and it makes a considerable difference between my childhood and that of my kids........ Continue to link to read further

Sad to know that places exist where everything is of, by, for the STATE. Individualism [Which made this Republic the giant it is]...discouraged.

It's a great history lesson. Thanks for posting it. There are many on these boards that need to learn history and u-turned around from repeating it.

I see fly catcher has been eating to many flies.

There are no defenders of totalitarian socialism on this board, at least as far as I've seen.

Take your pick

define: socialism - Google Search

What the fuck are you talking about? How does the "definition" of socialism have anything to do with your post?

One must know what socialism is according to the true definition of the word to actually know if anyone supports or is a defender of totalitarian socialism. In other words I am setting he ground rules.

I agree

I read several of these books.

My favorite was "To Build a Castle" by Vladimir Bukovsky. It is a prison memoir mostly.

there is also "Fear No Evil" by Nathan Scharansky.

And "Growing Up In Moscow" by Cathy Young.

First of all, a google search isn't going to give you the "true" definition.

The "true" definition doesn't exist.

Socialism leads to a totalitarian style governmet. Some are not a s extreme as others but they will sooner or later when other peoples money starts to run out become very abusive.
