Muslim states call on Hamas to recognize Quartet terms

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), including its Muslim member countries, called on Monday for Hamas to recognize the Quartet's conditions for a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Majallie Whbee (Kadima) said that all of the countries attending the meeting in Croatia, including Egypt, Morocco, Tunis and Algeria, as well as the Palestinian Authority, voted in favor of the resolution. The assembly, which has 23 member states and aims to foster cooperation between Mediterranean countries, also called for an end to the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and a return to negotiations.
