Muscle Relaxers!

BTW, your obsession with drug-related detail is indicative of addiction.

Drunks will argue all night that beer is "better" than whisk, meth addicts often brag that they don't drink; Methadone freaks brag that they aren't addicted to heroin

So your continued carping on the whole heroin thing is a dead giveaway. You'll cop to marijuana, but you get all serious and worked up over accusations of heroin use.

Textbook.

I thought you said addicts love to talk about the drugs they are doing? That they crave attention? I never said I have done heroin or slammed drugs, so by you logic, it would be safe to say I have never done either.

This is typical of you, Allie. You have taken an innocous remark by someone you disagree with and developed a whole belief system about them from it....without any evidence...and now claim that one lie backs up the other.

I'm telling you, IMO that sig line of yours reads like an accusation against Luissa...and is untrue. If she chose to, she could sue. And this is hardly the first time you've made such a claim about a stranger on here.

Your behavior indicates to me a disturbed person. I'm not claiming you are mentally ill...I'm claiming you write like someone with serious emotional or mental problems that need to be addressed. I cannot claim you are ill because I don't know you IRL.

See how this works?

No, she's ill alright. Ill with a longing for the taste of that "whisk".

Just one. more. time.

Addiction is not something I know much about, silky. If I had to guess, based on what Allie has stated here on USMB about herself, I'd say she's having a tough time of it as a single mom (I can relate), prolly emotionally as well as financially. She seems to have cut off her Mommy and so has no support from a parent or spouse.

Such things can wear a person down to the nub, and I am not without compassion. Thing is, I bet every single person who posts on USMB has something in their life grieving them and Allie seems not to be aware that the rest of us are not just bots here for her abuse and/or amusement. The lack of respect, inability to empathize and unwillingness to engage others as persons all suggest someone who has anger issues and yet dreads confrontation....in short, an internet addict/bully.

I can't believe this thread last 8 pages, I figued it would be done after 2 or 3.

So about a month ago I was hit in the jaw, and it aggravated by TMJ, so my doctor gave me muscle relaxers. I can hardly ever take them, mostly because they f me up. And if I take them before bed, I have to make sure I will get 8hrs of sleep or it is impossible to get out of bed.
It just cracks me up, drugs like Flexeril is legal, and not marijuana.

Flexeril aye. I currently have Cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers, and I can't take them for the same reason. Sure, they gel you out and make you feel good, but don't plan on working or anything like that. They expected me to take one tablet three times a day... shit... I take one the night before, before I go to bed, and I can still feel it the next day. Shit is powerful.

Well that sucks. I hope you jaw gets better soon. Have you tried cutting the pills in half to see if that works out for you? You know...helps with the pain but doesn't land you on your ass?

I don't like drugs, and drugs don't like me. Ive never taken muscle relaxants and not sure if the would work anyway. I have a high tolerance for drugs and it takes an awful lot to "do" anything from me in the way of pain. After surgeries they give me morphine and it doesn't touch me...so i just stop taking it.

Now steroids are a different matter..they just make me CRAZY WACKO NUTS INSANE

Ask your doctor to change them to Robaxin. They don't fuck ya' up, and they don't cause extreme drowsiness in the morning.

There are many, many people coping with long term, heavy pain. Thank God I'm not one, but I've had some need for pain meds in the past and it sucks not to be able to tolerate them. Terrible MD story:

So I am seeing a Pain Management Specialist at The World Famous Cleveland Clinic for about a year and he keeps changing my prescriptions, looking for a drug that will work on me and not make me itchy and bitchy. Trouble is, chemically all the drugs he tries are related and apart from the cost, I am building a stockpile of oxycotin, etc. that a drug addict would envy. (Eventually I threw them all out, so dun bother to burgle me.)

Anyway, after all this time my pharmacist finally whispers to me that this is a snipe hunt. A whole year of itchiness etc. and all that other trouble, and the MD never even bothered to tell me that someone who reacts badly to vicodine is not likely to be able to tolerate any codeine-based drug.

Eventually, the pain passed on its own....but I'd still like to bitchslap that MD.

How the he...what the fu...?

Anyway, muscle relaxers never give me any kind of high; they just do their job and relax spasming muscles for me when they are needed.

I dislocated my jaw once (yawning, of all things...go figure) and after the ER put it into place, they prescribed those for me for a few days (my facial muscle swere in some kind of spazzing mode for some reason). Honestly, I can get the same muscle relaxing effects with heat, especially on my neck, so that seems to work for me.

I cut them in half most of the time, but sometimes it doesn't take all the pain away. Go figure!
I took a steroid once, it was a hormone/ steroid drug to get me to start my period again, I had not had one for over a year. They told me to take it at night, big mistake. Try going to sleep when you feel like running a marathon.
