I have never understood the outright shortsightedness and stupidity of any woman who feels insulted when people talk about the importance of fathers.
Men do not feel slighted when people talk about the importance of mothers...so why do women feel insulted when people praise fathers?
SIngle parenting is not as beneficial as a mother and a father regardless if it is a man or a woman who is the single parent. No one would disagree that a child is better off without an abusive father than no father - likewise with a terrible mother. but that does not change the irrefutable fact that a good mother and a good father is the ideal situation.

He is absolutely correct.

1966 LBJ expanded the Aid to Families with Dependent Children program…under FDR, AFDC had been limited to widows, those who had lost their husbands and now lacked a breadwinner at home to help support the children.

Then LBJ began to loosen and expand the rules of AFDC eligibility, eventually getting to the point where any woman living alone with children could take advantage of this program. In doing so, they not only bought a large number of new votes, they also incentivized out of wedlock births and single motherhood.

As Charles Murray described in “Losing Ground,” the Great Society incentivized the same negative behaviors that cause poverty in the first place.

Millions of women discovered that they could be better off financially by not marrying.

and you can't have it both ways either.

Most schools teach sex ed and most high schools make condoms available for free. Teen pregnancies ARE down, it's older mothers choosing out-of-wedlock babies.

Abortion is not illegal.

Some people cringe when a "life mirror" is placed in front of them and the image is not flattering.

Ideally women and men should want to give their children the best lives possible. Based on the decisions of some parents I would clearly say that goal is not being met and some of them knowingly, yes knowingly and willingly, created the dismal impoverished lives they and their children live.
