Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) married young Ayesha (MGH)

Just because American Law is heavily against sex with children or underaged teens, it does not mean that this sort of behavior is objectively "wrong" or "immoral" or "evil".

The weltanshauung of those who live across the world may be radically different in a number of ways. Not every country need accept the Laws and world-view of America.

Will any sane person give his daughter at the age of six to a man that can be her grandpa?

Will you let your baby girl be given to someone knowing what he might do to her in his room, at night?

Aisha's father had no choice either. He followed Mohammad into many battles, and he knew his head would be cut off if he didn't agree to let Mohmmad marry er rape his daughter.

So what about all 11 wives of Mohammad? Did he have himself his own little personal girl scout troop or did he actually progress into say teenagers?

He even created his own special heaven with the 72 virgins, 28 young boys, and eat and drink all you can buffet without pooping.

Yes, even in the afterlife, the prophet of Islam was obsessed about things from the waist down.

But I think many Muslims today (...) are pedophiles.

This is true. I will add that a Muslim is a very good man, but most Muslims are very wicked men.

Since Islam condones child marriage (their primary prophet having done it, which is often cited by Islamic lawmakers,)

Islam does not condone child marriage. There is a wisdom behind Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) marrying Aisha at a very young age. It does not mean Muslims can do the same. For example, Muslims may have up to 4 wives maximum but Muhammad had 10 wives at one point.

a peaceful religion that teaches that owning and beating woman of any age is acceptable to God.

Islam does not teach this. Islam teaches to treat women well and Islam teaches one to have a profound respect for women.

But of course you are fulla shiite because in many Muslim countries men are allowed to legally marry 8 and 9 years olds specifically because their prophet did so.

"Islam has profound respect for women". Ha ha ha. Ya we see that every day, don't we?

As a definite enemy of Islam, this is the worst you could do. When your enemy lies about you, he's nothing while you are the good one. I don't say, Hitler, as a child used to beat up other children and mock them if he knew they were Jews. Hitler was indeed a very evil man, that is why people never lie about him.

Aisha's father gave his life to Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) long before Muhammad married Aisha. Aisha's father was the best friend of Muhammad long before revelation.

Muhammad and his companions have palaces and mansions made of gold in Paradise. Inside these Paradise there are (women)companions pure and holy. It is not a matter of one or two palace, but hundreds of thousands and millions of palaces.

There is no Muslim country that I know of where it is legal to marry 8 or 9 year olds. In the Muslim countries, as far as I know of, this is a fellony. What the law says and what people do is often different. I know that in many Muslim countries, prisons are overpopulated.

Religion is about chastity. Christian proudly called Mary "The Virgin". It is in this spirit that some religions considers it a great shame that a girl past puberty be unmarried. This is the case of Islam, in theory. But in practice, if you give your 8 year old daughter to someone, he will do sexual abuse to that child. That is why laws in Muslim countries forbid that girls and teenagers be married. This is normal. It should be forbidden to marry 8-9-10-11 year olds. That is an horror. But if Muhammad did not marry Aisha when she was 6, Christians and others would have said: we have "The Virgin", you don't have anything.

Do you realize how odd this sounds.
Why is Muhamed worried about keeping up with Christians/other people. Why would a prophet be concerned about the opinions of others.

Child marriage occurs in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Morrocco, etc. Another Muslim who either lies or is ignorant about his faith.

Sex with young teens I can understand some gray areas. Sex with actual children is pretty disgusting... human bodies are made the same way, being from a different culture doesn't change that.

Doesn't matter how many people view it as disgusting, those subjective opinions to not make it objectively "immoral" or "wrong" or "evil".

Roudy,

People in the United States marry 20 women or more. That is abuse, like child abuse. The United States don't have laws against marrying little girls. There may be a clause saying "not if she is underage."

Islam protects children and reveres the elderly. The law in the countries you mentioned severely punish child abuse, and maybe child marriage. If you marry someone, they might not look into her age. That is different.

There are Christians, Jews and foreigners in the countries you mentioned. So don't make generalizations and mix the law and Islam.

Featherlite,

I know how odd it sounds but I don't think you do.

Don't make me say what I did not say. What I meant is that a perfect religion must have the "virginity" and "chastity" concepts. In Christianity, it's Mary being called "The Virgin". In Islam, it's Aisha being married very young. In Judaism, there are a lot of stories pertaining to adultery, to stoning.

Your Propoganda fails yet again. It is a fact that child marriage occurs in Muslim countries due to the fact that Mohammad married a child.

Sharia Law has led to the legislation of child marriage in 6 countries
By Roddy Newman

While Sharia law courts have created a lot of controversy in Britain, they would be even more controversial if people found out that Sharia has led to the legalisation of child marriage in 6 countries. As the vast majority of people seem to be unaware of Sharia's child marriage dimension, this article only uses mainstream media articles, the UN, a major opinion poll company's Sharia law polling data, and the early biographer of Mohammed who Muslims say is the most reliable, and who states unequivocally that that Mohammed married one of his wives, 'Aisha, when she was a child as its sources.

For example, this 2008 "Times" article about forced child marriages in Nigeria, reveals that there is "fierce resistance" in its mostly Muslim states to a ban on child marriage, because they see such a ban as contrary to Sharia, which is why only one of them has agreed to a modified form of the ban (which outlaws marriage to pre-pubescent girls):

So why do Nigerian Islamists support child marriage?

Sharia is based on "The Koran", and the "Sunnah" (the words and deeds of Mohammed), and according to Sahih al-Bukhari, who is regarded by Muslims as the most reliable early biographer of their prophet, the founder of Islam married one of his wives, 'Aisha, when she was 6, and consummated that marriage when she was 9, as volume 7, book 62, number 64 of this University of Southern California Center for Muslim-Jewish Engagement translation of Al-Bukhari reveals:

http://www.cmje.org/religious-texts/hadith/bukhari/062-sbt.php

These 4 BBC News, "New York Times", UN, and "Wall Street Journal" articles mention Islamists in Yemen, Niger, and Saudi Arabia who say that Mohammed's child bride is the reason why they are in favour of child marriage:

Cleric Fights Saudi Bid to Ban Child Marriages - WSJ

The "Views of harsh punishments" section of this 2010 Pew Research poll, revealed that most Muslims in Nigeria support 3 grotesque, and extremely violent Sharia punishments (stoning adulterers to death, cutting off the hands of thieves, and executing people who abandon their Muslim faith), and that Muslims in Pakistan, Jordan, and Egypt are even more strongly in favour of those 3 punishments, so it is not surprising that, for the same obvious Sharia reason, grotesque child marriages are legal in 4 other mostly Muslim nations, and were until recently legal in another mostly Muslim country:

Muslim Publics Divided on Hamas and Hezbollah Pew Research Center s Global Attitudes Project

Saudi Arabian law is based entirely on the harshest of the 3 Sunni schools of Sharia jurisprudence (the "Hanbali"), so it is no surprise that as this 2010 "San Francisco Chronicle" article explains, child marriage is still legal in that country, although the Saudi justice minister said in 2009 that the minimum marriage age should be raised to 18:

Child marriage still an issue in Saudi Arabia - SFGate

Saudi wives can be not only pre-pubescent, but even babies, because Saudi Arabia has no minimum marriage age at all, as this 2008 Associated Press article reveals:

Calls for end to Saudi child marriages - World news - Mideast N. Africa NBC News

That article quotes Saudi marriage official Ahmad al-Muabi's opinion that fathers can legally sell their 1 year old daughters to husbands if they wish.

Moreover, once a Saudi girl or baby has been sold to a husband, she can then find it difficult to divorce him, as the just cited "San Francisco Chronicle" article pointed out that a Saudi court would not allow an 8 year old girl to divorce her middle aged husband.

In another case which this BBC News story discusses, a 12 year old Saudi girl asked for a divorce from the 80 year old husband she had been sold to, after he allegedly raped her, but she then dropped the divorce case, because her father wanted her to stay married:

BBC News - Saudi child bride drops divorce from 80-year-old man

Nor is it a surprise that in Islamist run Northern Sudan, 10 year old girls can legally be sold to a husband by their fathers, as this 2010 "New Republic" magazine article shows:

A Child Bride in Sudan Life outside of Darfur under Omar Al Bashir The New Republic

People tend to think of Turkey as a relatively secular Muslim country, but the "San Francisco Chronicle" article about Saudi Arabian child marriage which I cited a moment ago, also mentions the fact that Turkey's Islamist government reduced the minimum marriage to 12 in 2009. The result of that law change, was of course the legalisation of forced child marriages, which is why this Turkish newspaper article discusses the case of a Syrian 12 year old girl whose family sold her to a middle aged Turkish husband, who then raped her and forced her to take drugs, which led to Turkish police having to rescue her after her Syrian family complained:

TURKEY - 12-year-old Syrian bride rescued from abuse in Turkey

There has also been controversy over child marriages in Yemen in recent years, but because of Islamist opposition to outlawing them, they are still legal, which is why a 2009 ban on them was overturned after just 1 day:

http://www.yementimes.com/defaultdet.aspx?SUB_ID=33771

Yemen's child brides can be sold to men when they are as young as 8:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/29/world/middleeast/29marriage.html?pagewanted=all

Moreover, in Iran, where the minimum marriage age is now 16 for women and 18 for men, Sharia law recently led to the age of consent for girls being 9 within marriage, as this 2006 BBC article about a 16 year old Iranian woman who was executed for having sex outside marriage explains:

BBC NEWS Programmes Execution of a teenage girl

Finally, even when child marriage is illegal in mostly Muslim countries, Islamists often simply ignore the law. For example, child marriage is illegal in Afghanistan, but this 2011 "Time" magazine article about Afghan wives being jailed for fleeing violent husbands, points out that, "Nationwide, more than half of all girls are married before they turn 15, usually to settle disputes.":

Women in Afghanistan Jailed for Fleeing Abusive Marriages - TIME

This "New York Times" article about Afghan child marriages discusses an 11 year old girl who was sold to a 40 year old man:

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/09/magazine/09BRI.html

So will Britain's Sharia courts lead to Britain's Islamists ignoring British democratic law by selling young girls to men? After all, as this 2011 article points out, polygamy, which like selling girls to men is a product of an extremely male dominated Sharia culture in which males have a far higher status than females, is already widespread in Britain, despite the fact that polygamy is illegal under British democratic law:

Polygamy Investigation into how Muslim men can exploit UK benefits system Daily Mail Online

Wasn't Ayesha like 5 years old? why didn't he just scoop up an adult woman?

According to a couple of Sunni hadith Aisha was around 6 when engaged to Muhammad (she was living as a refugee in Abyssinia at the time and Muhammad was in the Arabian peninsula) and married him when she was 9. The early biographies of Muhammad all contradict themselves as to Aisha's age, so as a secular historian we don't know how old she was. And why her? She was the daughter of an important ally (abu Bakr) for Muhammad and given thep olitical and social structures of the time, it was important to secure him through marriage to thus make him a part of Muhammad's family. Her father would go on to lead the ummah after Muhammad died.

Ashtara,

Sex with a child is abuse. It is an horror, and a very great evil.

Yeah? So are you admitting to us that Islam promotes great evil?

65% of Brides in Muslim Yemen are Children

The case of Nada Al-Ahdal , the 11 year-old girl from Yemen who escaped a forced marriage, and an eight-year-old girl who died of internal injuries on her wedding night, are not that unusual.

Last year Yemeni police broke up the wedding a 9-year-old girl. But how representative are these horrifying cases?

More representative than you would think.

Child marriages are rampant in Yemen. A study revealed that the bridal age in more than half of the finalised marriages in Yemen was under the age of 15. According to the study conducted by Sana’a University, only 7 per cent of “husbands” were under the age of 18.

It also added that nearly 65 per cent of females are married “underage,” while that number rises to 70 per cent in rural areas.

Even within the same Islamic groups, people differ in their opinion on a minimum age group. There are “religious extremist and traditional” powers that refuse any legal move to set a minimum age for girl, arguing that there is no minimum age for marriage in Islamic law.

“Accordingly, these groups that have popular basis don’t want to lose these bases by supporting the move.”

I find it hilarious that this character Muslim75 tries to paint a picture of Mohammad and Islam which is the opposite of reality:

Child Marriage Should Be Legal Pakistani Legal Advisory Body

Child Marriage Should Be Legal: Pakistani Legal Advisory Body
music.jpg

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), a constitutional recommendatory body that provides legal advice to the Pakistani government and parliament, ruled on Tuesday that laws which ban underage children from getting married are “un-Islamic.” The CII also determined that according to Islam there is no minimum age for marriage.

Dawn, an English-language Pakistani daily, reported that the CII chairman, Maulana Mohammad Khan Sheerani, also blasted laws forbidding polygamy. “Sharia [Islamic law] allows men to have more than one wife, and we demanded that the government should amend the law,” he told reporters. “The government should amend the law to make the issue of more than one marriage easy and in accordance with Sharia,” CII added. Under current Pakistani laws, a man must obtain written approval from his wife (or wives) in order to acquire another wife. Sheerani, who is himself a member of the National Assembly for the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F), a conservative religious party, has asked the government to formulate laws on marriage and divorce that are compliant with Sharia.

Child marriage is prevalent across South Asia and some other parts of the world. One of the consequences of such early nuptials is a high rate of infant mortality arising from girls getting married young and having early and frequent pregnancies. Indeed, according to researchers at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine, one in 14 births to youthful mothers (defined as being under 18) lead to the death of the child within the first year of life in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan.

Anita Raj, Ph.D., professor of medicine and director of the Center on Gender Equity and Health at UC San Diego, one of the researchers of the study, also noted that short intervals between pregnancies (defined as less than 24 months) account for about one-fourth of the infant mortality rate in India and Pakistan. This translated into 200,000 baby deaths last year alone. South Asia has some of the highest infant mortality rates in the world – United Nations data reveals that Pakistan records about 71 deaths per 1,000 live births, India, 53, Bangladesh, 49 and Nepal, 39. In stark contrast, the infant mortality rate in the United States came in at 6.81 and in Singapore, the figure is only 1.92, the lowest rate in the world. For the world as whole, 49.4 deaths are recorded per 1,000 live births.

The given data suggests that the problem in Pakistan is significantly worse that in neighboring countries. “A major reason you see worse infant mortality rates -- and worse maternal mortality rates -- in Pakistan relative to India, Bangladesh and Nepal is lower reproductive and maternal health care coverage for women there,” Raj said in an interview. “Also, Pakistan has lower rates of exclusive breastfeeding, which increases risk for infant mortality. Exclusive breastfeeding refers to providing only breast milk to the baby for six months. This reduces risk for things like diarrhea from bacteria in water.”

The overriding factor to all this alarming data is the prevalence of child marriage in South Asia, which presents a grave public health concern, for both mother and baby. Child brides are themselves highly susceptible to early deaths or serious health problems. They also tend to find themselves trapped in poverty and illiteracy. Raj and her colleagues revealed last year in another study that more than 10 million girls under the age of 19 get married every year – nearly one-half of them in India and Pakistan.

Muslims know quite well. That's why they keep marrying 8 and 9 year olds, they are simply following in the footsteps of the "most perfect human" <cough>

"Most religions, over history, influenced the marriageable age. For example, Christian ecclesiastical law forbade marriage of a girl before the age of puberty. Hindu vedic scriptures mandated the age of a girl's marriage to be adulthood which they defined as three years after the onset of puberty. Jewish scholars and rabbis strongly discouraged marriages before the onset of puberty. In contrast, some Islamic marriage practices have permitted marriage of girls below the age of 10, because Shariat law is based in part on the life and practices of Muhammad, the Prophet, as described in part in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. The Prophet married Aisha, his third wife, when she was about age six, and consummated the marriage when she was about age nine.

Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Sahih al-Bukhari, 7:62:64"

Another thing Roudy,

Muslims are very proud of their religion. They never lie about it, even Al Qaeda or Boko Haram. They make huge mistakes, but they never lie about Islam. Maybe you don't care because maybe you think that all of them are very stupid. I hope for you, that that is not the case.

I have not read your documentation yet, maybe later. But it seems you are not saying anything new, to which I already responded. A perfect religion has the "virginity" and chastity concept, like in Christianity, Mary is known as the Virgin. Similarly, a girl must be married if she reaches puberty. Sex with a teenager is abuse, however. The laws in Muslim countries, like in the US severely reprimand child abuse and violence against women or men. But men may be dishonest and ignore the laws.

Muhammad and his companions have palaces and mansions made of gold in Paradise. Inside these Paradise there are (women)companions pure and holy. It is not a matter of one or two palace, but hundreds of thousands and millions of palaces.

Just exactly where do you get this nonsense from? How can you possibly know what happened to Muhammad after he died? Or are you making this stuff up as you go?

Yes of course you "have not read" my documentation because it proves that child marriage is prevalent in many Muslim countries due to the fact that Mohammad married a child. Which is nothing new or unusual.

So your claim that children and women are "protected" in Muslim countries is either false or a lie. Unless by protected you mean OPPRESSED and PERSECUTED.

He's not making it up. Like he said, when Muslims die they go to these palaces and join Mohammad in getting laid for eternity. That's basically what Islamic heaven is all about - sexual pleasure and an all you can eat and drink buffet (without ever having to poop).
