typically, when both sides in a dispute make a request jointly; judges will allow/grant it; especially a motion like this

in this case; we are talking about a speedy trial; which is an absolute right - so if the defendant decided to push for it; the court would have no choice but to deny Mueller's motion

(true story - I got a DUI in Atlanta in the early 90's and my lawyer, one William "Bubba" Head, got the case dismissed by filing a motion demanding a speedy trial - told me that he had NEVER seen the Atlanta courts bring anything to trial within the time frame)
