Mr. Romney Reinvents History

Mitt Romney wrapped the most important speech of his life, for Thursday night’s session of his convention, around an extraordinary reinvention of history — that his party rallied behind President Obama when he won in 2008, hoping that he would succeed. “That president was not the choice of our party,” he said. “We are a good and generous people who are united by so much more than divides us.”

The truth, rarely heard this week in Tampa, Fla., is that the Republicans charted a course of denial and obstruction from the day Mr. Obama was inaugurated, determined to deny him a second term by denying him any achievement, no matter the cost to the economy or American security — even if it meant holding the nation’s credit rating hostage to a narrow partisan agenda.

No shit.. What did you expect. During the 90's and the early part of the 2000's, democrats were in the minority. They whined and moaned about bi-partisan government. They used buzz terms such as "unilateral" when Pres Bush made ANY decision. As time passed, the GOP establishment ( RINO's) extended a hand across the aisle. Big Tent the GOP said. Democrats bit that hand. And when the dems became the majority party, they shut the GOP out of the process.
So what the fuck do you expect? Did you really think the GOP was going to sit idly by and allow Obama to pursue his leftist, socialist agenda without a fight?
Newsflash, only you libs thought Obama was taking the country in the right direction. You all bought into the hype and ignored the poor results. NOTHING has "changed" The country is in worse shape then before Obama took office. Of course there will be resistance against a big spending, big government central planner like Obama.
So please ,spare us the "Obstruction" bullshit. If you don't like it, tell the radical left wing of the democrat party to stand down. The majority of the people in this country are social moderates and fiscal conservatives. That's the way it is. That is the way it will always be.

Romney never said that the republican party hoped obama would succeed. Romney said that HE hoped obama would succeed, which is not the same thing at all. Not even close.

I expect republicans to obstruct obama. That's why they were elected to office in 2010. Any republican who does not oppose obama will be replaced by a republican who will.

liberal can't comprehend that

How much debt has Obama created that wasn't a direct or indirect result of George W. Bush actions and policies?

Untrue and irrelevant.
Obama was in the driver's seat. He had a majority democrat Congress.
Their answer was to spend and tax our way our of debt.
The real mission was to first, take care of the people that got Obama his shot in the Oval Office. Second, to take care of those on government assistance thus locking up their votes in 2012. The rest of Obama's time he spent campaigning for a second term.
His speeches are all rhetoric. He always saves space in his speeches to attack those who oppose his policies. Obama has little else to add. When he does propose something, he just says what the proposal is but never explains how it will be accomplished.
To date, the only significant issue that went Obama's way is Obamacare. And the majority of the country HATES it.
The fact is Obama's "Hope and Change" and "yes we can" has been an abysmal failure.
Now you guys are holding on to the premise that Obama's central planning would have been just fine if those evil republicans had gone along to get along. Never mind that those proposals would give the federal government an immense amount of power.
No Obama has not created 3 million or 4 million new jobs. If that were true the unemployment rate would be under 6%. The stimulus were nothing but payoffs to states and cities that helped Obama get into office. The money is gone and any jobs "saved" are gone as well. And Obama has the fucking nerve to turn his attack dogs on suburban people because they moved out of the crime infested high tax shit public school cities. What Obama and his operatives fail to understand is that the move to suburbia began 60 years ago. Obama thinks suburban people have cheated the cities. And of course there is the lame assed race card. Yes, we all moved out of the city to escape the black and brown people. Oh sure.
Wanna come down here and see all the black and brown people that live right here in this suburb? No, you won't. Because then you'd have to admit your narrative on the issue is a piece of garbage.
We do not want "NO" government. We want government to do what is written in the US Constitution. That is defend the people with a strong military, run the treasury PROPERLY. Operate the legislature and courts. Assure the people the rights as they are explained in the Constitution are protected and that is really about it.
All these departments and agencies should be closed. The federal government has no business running a housing program. Interfering with public education is a no no. That is a state and local issue. Yes the federal government should have laws and guidelines to prevent discrimination and other violation of civil rights. Of course. And there should be oversight to make sure business and industry, including financial business flies straight.
Other than that though, we can just eliminate all other government. It's too costly and we do not need it.

Ernie, I know you wingnuts hate facts and truth - but I happen to really like facts and truth.

You retarded assholes just want to make shit up as you go.

Name just ONE significant thing that House and Senate Republicans did to help Obama on legislation important to average Americans.
Which pieces of legislation are those?
Important legislation? You are kidding right?
Jobs bills? Umm Obama already had two bites at that apple. Over $800 billion in job stimulus spending and what? Crickets. The money and the jobs that might( no one can actually prove there were jobs "saved") have been secured, are gone.
And don't try the "well if Obama didn't do this it would have been worse".....
That doesn't wash. Clinton for all his faults was smart enough to leave the economy alone. What happened? The economy fixed itself. As it always does. Obama tried to play "risk averse".. He thought by pouring taxpayer dollars into the marketplace, he could put a plastic bubble around the people. Never works. Economy is cyclical. Of course you people on the left believe everything should be a bed of roses all the time.

Politicians have long known that the party faithful will believe what the party tells them. Even when a lie is proven to be a lie, a simple counter lie is all that is usually necessary. If we are lied to it is because we the people accept lies. It is our doing, we allow politicians to lie to us, in fact, some encourage the lies. Did Romney or Ryan lose votes as their lies are now being exposed?
Political conventions are simply days of lies, and I wonder how of the party faithful watching knew when they were being lied to, but still applauded and cheered?

Exactly.

And any republican/conservative who denies the above is as much a liar as Romney.
