That’s exactly what I mean. I believe the immigrant invasion is as serious a threat as we have faced in the last 75yrs. If we close the border the problem will end soon. If we are unable to stop the invasion of illegals without impacting trade, we need to stop all border crossings with the exception of American Citizens returning home.

That’s exactly what I mean. I believe the immigrant invasion is as serious a threat as we have faced in the last 75yrs. If we close the border the problem will end soon. If we are unable to stop the invasion of illegals without impacting trade, we need to stop all border crossings with the exception of American Citizens returning home.

No it won't "solve" the problem, the border has been closed to illegal immigration for decades and it hasn't managed to stop illegal immigration, has it?

What closing the border to trade will accomplish is hurting American Businesses and Consumers as well as Mexican Businesses and Consumers. It will disrupt supply chains, cause shortages, increase prices and escalate tensions between Governments on both sides of the border without having an appreciable effect on illegal immigration.

Your solution is akin to cutting off your leg to cure a stubbed toe.

Trump never will. The only reason anyone even looked at him was his promise to build a wall. The republicans in Congress right now, the ones up for election have ZERO intention of building a wall, or even ending illegal immigration. Anyone who believes otherwise needs to take a long hard look at the history of the issue. Boooosh Jr could have fixed it when he had it all working for him with congress and what did he do ? He tried to ram amnesty down his supporters throats. Trump talked big on this and his failure to produce may cost him in 2020 and I hope it does.

There are 600,000,000 people living south of our border and a fair percentage fo them would like to move to the US if they could, so it is critical that this caravan be stopped by any means necessary because if we allow these thousands of people to enter the US it would be an open invitation to the 600,000,000 still living south of our border to come to the US. The threat to close the border is intended to motivate the Mexican government to prevent the caravan from reaching the US border. Whatever the cost in lost trade, the US economy will be better able to tolerate it than the Mexican economy will.
