Wow, perhaps this is part of the problem:

In a poll done by the AARP, only 37% of respondents actually knew what a "public option" was:

How the hell are people supposed to respond to polls on whether they approve of a public option when they don't know what it is?

And apparently their message has been heard loud and clear, since apparently 26% of Americans think that a "Public Option" is the same thing as Nationalized Health Care...

I guess they are learning from the politicians that don't read anything anyway !!!

It's a mere semantic ruse, since "socialized medicine" won't fly and people have already decoded "single payer" and "universal insurance" to also mean socialized medicine.

If you can'r dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullshit.

Item 1 was correct. That is what the current proposal for a "Public Option" currently entails.

Item 2 is incorrect. For two reasons: 1) Because it describes a health care system, not health insurance, and 2) Because it describes a Nationalized system that pays for health insurance through taxes.

Item 3 is incorrect because a "Cooperative" is not "public", it is run privately by its members.
