Republicans TEND to, or are more likely to vote for their "enlightened self interest" rather than believing that they can cash in on or derive direct benefits from results from their vote.

I guess that's why we never hear republicans campaigning on a platform that includes tax cuts.

Actually Republicans see tax cuts as the best way to limit new government initiatives, and a means to allow more freedom for everyone, including financial freedom, even for corporations, and even the wealthy, a class they may not be a part of. They realize the wealthy need things done, and buy things that down the line put people to work, cause jobs to be created.

Right! Because that's EXACTLY what they did with the Bush tax cuts - look at our booming economy and all the jobs! Thanks for inventing the toxic derivatives wealthy investors! Hope you had fun w/ my 401K money! Screw the rich for once. Let them fend for themselves. They can use some of that cash they're sitting on or hiding off shore to "get things done". They certainly don't need any help from the government - what about the "personal responsibility talky point?... Or does that only apply to poor & middle class people?

I'd have to go with bible thumpers as topping this list.

They tend to vote exclusively republican, based on just a couple of issues that by and large have no bearing whatsoever on their own self interest and well being.

Second place probably goes to blacks.
