"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Gandhi

Imagine for a moment if the Golden Rule were applied to life and politics today. Instead of divisive nonsense, they would all be working to make healthcare for all a reality.

"Think about it: A conservative Christian is a contradiction in terms. Christ wasn't a conservative. He fed the hungry simply because they were hungry. He didn't require that they go to work first. He healed the sick, simply because they were sick. He didn't push them into an insurance company, or let the drug companies gouge them on prices. Jesus was a liberal; Herod was the conservative." Rev. Jesse Jackson

"We created this website because we believe the historical, Biblically documented teachings of Jesus Christ clearly show that Jesus is a Liberal. His philosophy, based in compassion, equality, inclusion, forgiveness, tolerance, peace and - most importantly - love, is 100% Liberal."

Do you ever post your own thoughts? Or do you always post links to Amazon.com telling us to read Liberal Authors?

Can't think for yourself eh? :eusa_whistle:

If you actually mean someone that advocates for individual liberty and freedom then I would say that Jesus is pretty high up there but if you including yourself into that then you are wrong. Most communist took the liberal word and used it for themselves to hide their agenda because being liberal is good.

I consider most people who are liberals or claim to be not anything that fits the above definition.

Well by the definition of liberal, all that means is that they would like to change the current system, so communists can call themselves liberal as a general term. There are many types of liberal, which unfortunately hurts the unity of the party. The strength of conservatives is that their is only one type of "no".

You fail.

One can change the current system for an older, more oppressive one.

liberalism=/=change

Why oh why do people think religion is tied to conservatism... Analysis states Jesus was a liberal individual for his time... Party of No rebukes that idea with... no.

Liberalism is an activism to promote change. While conservatives are keying on preventing most changes from happening because that is their political ideology, you can't simply state liberalism does not equal change. You're smarter than that and we all know that.

:cuckoo:

No honest or valid analysis says any such silly thing.

Modern American liberalism is just another way of saying "Marxism/socialism."

All the pretext you guys envelope your cliches and rhetoric with do not suffice to conceal the truth.

You are partly right inasmuch as that such "change" sought by you liberoidals is something conservatives do seek to prevent.

Modern American liberalism is simply statism. It is a desire, as Levin correctly notes, for a soft tyranny.

You are not smart at all, par-boiled.

All right you start of with some half-baked statements and then go and make a personal statement like that. Thanks.

Please read the definition of analysis and look at earlier posts. Thanks.

Associating Marxism with socialism is dumb enough, but then you go and try to define Liberalism as Marxism/socialism. Aren't you the one who trying to argue that everyone else is dishonest?

Statism is a statement you are correct on. Soft tyranny is just an opinion. It better describes what occurs when a majority rules a minority on matters like gay marriage, abortion, etc. (i.e. a failed democracy).

to say 'change' and 'liberalism' are equivalent is just plain stupid
