4000? good lord, they should be released immediately! :rolleyes:
Isn't California in deep enough shit without releasing 4000 habitual criminals?

did you see this little guy....:rolleyes:.. at the end of HH's sentence?.....

I never said they shouldn't be punished but I remember one homeless guy getting life for stealing 50 cents! That is outrageous and an abuse of the system.

How big was his rap sheet? How many people have been killed for 50 cents? How many people have been killed and later discovered to have no money at all?

These guys, three of them robbed a man for 50 cents.

we are such horrible people, WHY Curse you people, and you law abiding citizens and your consitutional rights, why do u walk free while the rest of us are incarcerated for stealing donuts and givng us second chances, and free defense, and jobs in prison and education, counseling, color tv, food, shelter, HOW DARE YOU, i could live on the streets and not recieve all that.

Yeah his other crimes were violent and who knows maybe he did his max sentence but this was a stupid doughnut....its a waste of money and space for him to be in there...hell why doesn't the state while he is in prison give the idiot a skill? At least then taxpayers money is going to something useful instead of letting them have idle time to figure out how to become a better criminal.

if i mug you for 3 dollars can i get away with it?

I never said they shouldn't be put in jail but life for that? Hell no.

I am not saying ALL prisoners who go to prison and get a skill won't repeat but I would bet a good 40-60% if given a skill and a chance on the outside at a job would not repeat....now there are a good bit who refuse to work for a living and will continue to commit crimes but I wouldn't paint them all with one broad brush. Do like the show pit bulls and parolees does she gives jobs to parolees gives them a purpose in life and a good majority change and lead productive lives.I know a lot of prisons believe its just for punishment and not rehab. Every prison needs to have a job corps type deal to get these people some skills...hell we are already paying for them mine as well make it worth while.

profits=evil

Only in some instances. For profit prisons and schools come to mind.

Abolish them why? They're the ones that actually work. No... You'd rather sacrifice children, and criminals to the alter of the almighty public Union. :lol:

Not talking about private schools. It's these for profit colleges that are ripping people off.

And no, private schools are not "the only ones that work".

That is the beauty of College... You actually have the RIGHT to pick, and choose which one you want to apply to. Ridiculous argument.

The colleges being referred to are the payday lenders of colleges.

In a statement, Senator Harkin said, “In this report, you will find overwhelming documentation of exorbitant tuition, aggressive recruiting practices, abysmal student outcomes, taxpayer dollars spent on marketing and pocketed as profit, and regulatory evasion and manipulation.”
