More people on food stamp than ever.

Lookie here Goose.

just because YOU dont want to be on welfare, doesnt mean there are not millions who LOOOOOOVE getting 'dat free gubmint checks"

trust me, there are a metric crap ton of people that REFUSE to work, they just wants them some of that free money.

I understand your error, you like most people, figure you are pretty average,s o whats true for you is true for most.

but it isnt.

TRUST ME.....you're full of shit.

Again.....if anyone thinks that people WANT to be on welfare then they are shining examples of why you should avoid inbreeding.

So the lady with 15 kids that "needs" someone to take care of them would rather have a job, huh??

You'll find extreme exceptions to every rule. But to say that anything more than a miniscule percentage of welfare recipients would rather be on welfare than working a decent job is beyond ignorance.

Seriously if anyone thinks that people WANT to be on welfare then they are shining examples of why you should avoid inbreeding.

Really? I think your confused. Lets look at some math.

Work at Wal-mart, starting pay for wal-mart is 7.25 at 30 hours a week. = 870 a month. Deduct for taxation at gunpoint and you can expect what 820?
Multiply that times 12= 9840$
Now to be fair lets add in the earned income tax credit, which is a subsidy to employers so they can keep not paying employees enough to live on (gotta love lobbiests) Lets estimate 1000$ annual, but I really dont know.
Minimum wage people still receive food stamps, which is another subsidy for business that refuses to pay people enough to live on (but they still hold record profits every year and destroy all other business) 180$ * 12 = 2160
Free money at tax time for being an irresponsible whore 8,000$
Grand total to get off ass and attempt to be a good productive citizen = 21,000$

Or, you can not work. Spread your legs and contribute bastard children to society.
Lets say 3 bastard children.
In Kansas thats 380$ a month in food stamps
We also provide a cell phone now so thats a 39$ value
We also provide housing so lets say that averages 400$ (which I think is low but benifit of the doubt)
Medicaid should be listed here to but it fluctuates.
These come to a total of 9,828$ in annual benifits.
Plus in Kansas you get cash assistance for 4 months a year. Well lets add another 800$ a year to that.
Plus when its tax time 3 children with no income means 8,000$ from uncle sam, and thats being conservative.
grand total of 18,628

21,000-18628=1,372$ Thats the difference in income. If you were an irresponsible do nothing liberal female whore with three bastard children what would you do?

Also I should note that I did not take into account subsidy's for child care, but thats kinda a wash cause you only get it if you get off your ass. I mention it here because it is another subsidy for business that puts profits over paying employees a living wage.

And we wonder why our economy is fucked, why we are 16 trillion in debt. This doesnt even touch direct corporate subsidy's and legal plunder.

Corporate liberalism is destroying this country.

I'm taking two homeless kids who are currently crashing at my house (until they can get on their own two feet) to sign up for Food Suppliment this morning.

Both kids had had jobs, both lost those jobs due to the economy crashing and now both spend most of their day trying to figure out where to find a job.

Of course, without a car to get around finding work in Maine isn't exactly easy since practically every job out there requires that one can get back and forth to work in a place that basically has no public transportation whatever.

This is just one example of how people fall into the poverty trap and can't get out of it without help from some outside influence.

In this case that outside influence will be me, and hopefully, the State of Maine.

But let me show you still further how hard it can be. One kid has epilepsy, so he cannot drive. Not until he can go to a nurologist who can sign off on his right to drive.

Except he hasd no health care so he cannot afford the thousands of dollars it is going to take for him to get permission to drive.

Now how this kid is suppose to pull himself up by his own bootstraps when the kid doesn't even have a pair of flip-flops is beyond me.

I have an uncle that is 56 years old. He was born with severe handicaps. He can't read and he can't write. He has a job, actually two. He delivers news papers and cleans up at night when a restaurant closes. He doesn't drive, he can't get a license. He rides his bike or takes public transportation everywhere, yep even to work.

He lives in an apartment in the rear of my aunt's house. He pays rent. He cooks his own meals, he washes his own clothes. It's all in perception.

perhaps the issue isn't spreading your legs and raking it in, OR the "taxation at gunpoint".... but the fact that wages are so low that people... even HONEST people cannot afford to work for that low of a pay scale?

You see, the problem isn't government taxation... the problem isn't safety net programs. The problem is corporate profiteering at the expense of our country... be it extremely low wages, outsourcing, or any of the myriad of other ways that big, powerful entities fuck us over.

I know... to you, the answer is to say fuck those people who "don't want to work"... cut them off and make them work. It doesn't matter if they can't survive on those wages.

The truth of the matter is that Big Corporations and their stockholders are going to have to learn to do with a little less for a while, not already struggling people who are just barely hanging on being forced to add more holes to the belts that are already tightened to an extremely uncomfortable level.

Trust me.... Empower the workforce, and that investment will pay huge dividends in the long run. Minimizing the workforce will only cause more of the same misery that we've been feeling.

But, business doesn't want to make do with less now for a better environment later.... they want it now so they can cash in and retire young... the rest of the country be damned.

Obama drove the car out of the ditch but right wing extremists in congress wont allow him to create the money to fix it? Really? So adding trillions to the debt is how he drove it out of the ditch? And you do understand you cannot simply "create" wealth by printing money - Obama cannot create money without dilluting the worth of the Dollar.

G E N E R A T I O N S of people are on welfare. These fuckers aren't even trying to be successful. Why in the hell should they? It's a fucking racket.

I lived in Norfolk for 20+ years. Public housing - in overload.

Of course, parked outside are Caddy's, Lincoln's, Hummer's, etc.

Pathetic WASTE of taxpayer's money.

There should be a limit - 2 years??? - etc. for one to receive gov't assistance. After that - fuck 'em!

I thought there was a time limit? or is it different depending what state you live in?

Now how this kid is suppose to pull himself up by his own bootstraps when the kid doesn't even have a pair of flip-flops is beyond me.

1st off I really doubt the health care epilepsy situation is as bad as you whine and cry it out to be. Every major city has a health clinic where seeing a doctor is 20$ or less. This claim of tens of thousands of dollars. My ass. And even if it were true tell that unemployed kid to solve this problem himself by opening the phone book and calling repeatedly every 'specialist' until he finds one that will help him. If that doesnt work then take more measures, go to your local news, go to charity's apply for medicaid (that is what the social safety net is for).

But instead of teaching this kid how to survive you teach him how to hold his hand out.

2nd with regards to transportation. Agian give a man a fish feed him for a day, teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Go spend 20$ on a used bicycle. Oh its not that big of a problem? Then stop holding your hand out. Alternatively he can start to lobby his local government to solve the no transportation issue, you know, take an active role in his government. Get signatures, go to the city hall meetings, create an issue of it. This liberal mentality that I can just sit at home and collect from others while simply waiting on someone else to solve the problems is 'epic fail'.

Your complaints of having to help this kid is falling on deaf ears. That is how society is supposed to work. That is your responsibility to help your neighbor, not to look to the state to solve problems for you.

I really doubt those kids spend all day trying to find a job. Just flat out dont believe it. And if it is true then my suggestion would be for them to create there own jobs. Of course that would involve getting off ones ass and instead of holding a hand out, looking at that hand and asking 'how can I help my situation?' Liberals want from the state but what have these kids contributed to society? They have nothing but free time and your applying for state assistance, what are they doing in return that will better the chances of getting a job?

Are they working at soup kitchen? Are they collecting donations from people who are working to help people in there situation? Are they doing -anything- to help themselves or other people in there 'awful unfortunate' situation?

I am guessing that is a big fat no. But liberals can sit around and bitch with there hand out.

Ill tell you like a social worker friend told me. In the state of Kansas benefits are limited to the mother, but you cannot cut the benefits to the children.

I say stop encouraging bastard children. Its time we end the welfare, grandfather in anyone pregnant or with child, but let it be known that the faucet of endless money is getting shut off. Its time for people to be responsible for themselves.

If they cannot fend for themselves then it is time for us as a nation to address our failed central planning and failed systems.

Great post, unlike the poster here our family took the lead and let my uncle make it on his own. Sure the FAMILY helped and so does the COMMUNITY but he's not receiving public assistance, we taught him working will make a difference. He's a proud American even if at 56 he has the mentality of a 14 year old.

We are not that different. None of us are. We are taught by the glowing box that we are divided.

I know... to you, the answer is to say fuck those people who "don't want to work"... cut them off and make them work. It doesn't matter if they can't survive on those wages.

Yes, this is true. Now before you get your panties into a bunch you have to understand economics and a free market. Will there be an uncomfortable adjustment period as a free market finds equilibrium? Yes there will, but the end result will be lower prices on everything. Rent prices will drop to levels where those 'low wages' actually can pay for housing. Healthcare is the same thing. Grocery prices will drop. Business will run at less of a profit margin if they are not selling anything. Subsidy's = higher prices.

Society will flat out not function unless the vast majority of people are able to have access to the basic needs of every living human being. Prices will drop and wages will rise/fall until all of those needs are met. Yes, there may be civil unrest as people stand up for there rights to affordable food, housing, and medical care. But it will happen. You are simply not seeing the end result. Its like going in for surgery. You go in feeling like crap, surgery will feels alot worse, but in the end your much healthier and better off for it. A big part of obtaining that 'living wage' is through collective bargaining. No libertarian or conservative should have any problem with unions, provided the union does not receive special privileges from government. I support unions, I do not support government putting them on a pedestal.

The truth of the matter is that Big Corporations and their stockholders are going to have to learn to do with a little less for a while, not already struggling people who are just barely hanging on being forced to add more holes to the belts that are already tightened to an extremely uncomfortable level.

I agree, but you cannot force this through more central planning, more price fixing, and more government intrusion into our lives and our wallets. A free market will demand this! Agian, this is short sightedness and a failure to understand economics.

There is a reason that almost all economists agree with Ron Paul on domestic policy.

This is exactly what the GObP/pubs want. Its why they have not introduced even one jobs bill and why they filibuster any and all bills that could help the working class.

Yes, lets embrace more central planning. More price fixing. More subsidy's. More welfare. Lets give government money to anyone that can think of an excuse for it.

It worked out so well for every other socialist nation throughout history. It was this mentality that created the environment of prosperity generations before us enjoyed.

Ya right.

Pay Down America's Unsustainable Debt Burden
The federal government is spending and borrowing so much that the United States will soon go broke. Washington’s spending binge has put our nation in debt, eroded economic confidence, and caused massive uncertainty for private sector job creators. It's time to live within our means.

I have seen, with my own eyes a grandmother say about her granddaughter "we need to get her bred so she can get some benefits"

While working as a nurse aide, i was going to school to get licensed to give medications, it came with a $3/hr raise. I suggested one of my co-workers that she should go to this school, since she was very smart and a single mom.

her reply?

that $3/hr was less than her government housing check, so she wouldnt even consider going back to school. She wanted her check

so you are simply incorrect.

there are some people that gleefully collect thier welfare and who BALK at the idea of not getting it any more.

why do you refuse to even consider the idea that you might be wrong?

BTW- having an avatar pic of a biker, and going by "goose" might make one who new about such things think you were claiming to be a member of the galloping goose mc.

Seriously if anyone thinks that people WANT to be on welfare then they are shining examples of why you should avoid inbreeding.

TRUST ME.....you're full of shit.

Again.....if anyone thinks that people WANT to be on welfare then they are shining examples of why you should avoid inbreeding.

you're a lying monkey, they've introduced many bills to improve the business environment so that hiring will take place.. know where their bills are? In Harry Ried's garbage can.. you lying monkey.

this.

the republicans have, in 1 year passed 15 or more bills to have them go to the senate an have them shitcanned by harry ried.

so you are simply wrong

MORE PEOPLE ON FOOD STAMP THAN EVER.
MORE PEOPLE WITHOUT HEALTHCARE.
CAUSE AND EFFECT.

Bush ran the car in the ditch. Obama got the car out of the ditch but Radical Right Wing Extremists Congress will not allow him the money or allow him to create the money needed to repair the car. Radical Right Wing Extremists Congress is the reason people are remaining on food stamp and still unemployed.

--Bush tax cuts for the rich was not allowed to expire as Bush had planned and RRWE Congress blocked tax raise for the 1%ers.
--Bush allow more businesses to take their business overseas than ever. Causing lost of jobs for Americans and businesses that did not leave to go bankrupt causing more lost of jobs . Lost of jobs mean lost of tax revenue for the Government.
--Raise in Medicare and drug program premiums.
--Three years lost of COLA for senior made more of them entitled to more food stamps.
--RRWE cuts in Government programs such as job training programs and baby sitting subsidies for welfare mothers to get them off welfare put more on food stamps.

Newt Gingrich and the rest of the GOP is accomplices of the problem because while promising change they actually want to continue the Bush era habits. More war and wider distance between the rich and the poor and complete annihilation of the middle class.

Ps.
RRWE worse nightmare.
Six month in a row economic growth. We are in recovery thanks to Obama in spite of RRWE road blocks. 300,000 jobs added in December. In spite of.

OMG are we back to this Democrat party talking point again.
About the car in the ditch and the tow truck and the republicans
kill the driver of the tow truck and then cause an avalanche
to bury the car deeper or some stupid shit.

What exactly is it again....Geez.....

The Democrats are just as responsible as the Republicans as to where we are now.

Everything is Bush's fault as if he were a Dictator and congress didn't exist.

Obama needs 8% or lower UE the morning of the election. If not he should not be sent back to the WH.

That's my opinion and the view of History.:D

It doesn't get any simpler then that.
