More people blame Bush than Obama for economic mess

Everyone wants to blame Bush, while he was no angel, let's go back to what started this mess, mainly the housing market with no doc loans, sub prime loans, loans to people who could not afford them, we need to look to Clinton and his everyone deserves a house program, Barney Frank, Freddie and Fanny.

While the deficient did rise higher with Bush than Clinton, we also had low un-employment and there was a good economy.

In October 2008 the Stock Market was over 11,000 when it was apparent that BO might win, the market started it downward trend, it kept sliding to 6,547 in march of 2009 when the first of many of the asinine BO ideals were being talked about and put into place, it has been slowly climbing to 10,000, still short of the average of over 11,000 during the Bush years, it was 14,093 in Oct 2007 as a high.

The Stock market has recovered some, not because of BO, but because people can only go so long without spending, thus the markets and durable goods will help when people MUST buy things.

Bo has spent 4 times as much Money in 18 months as Bush did in 4 years and what do we have to show for it 10% un-employment, a Nation debt that is rated in the 1 1/2 Trillions for two years now and estimated to grow at 1.5 Trillion per year for several more years, many economist are now saying un-employment will not get below 8.5% for two more years.

No one person could have caused this and dam sure BO will not fix it, just my two bits......

The Democrats didn't 'take control' until January 2009. By then the country had been in recession for over a year.

Man do you need a civics lesson.

Once Congress was in the hands of the Democrats Jan of 07' they started monkeying with banking regulations. While they were in the minority they pushed crazy anti-discrimination in lending policies. Then when they were put in charge of oversight of various parts of FDIC and other governmental entities they started tweaking regulations making it harder for anyone to get loans.....which caused a vacuum in lending. Then all of those ARMs started going variable and became a bad deal. Unqualified borrowers started walking away from their mortgages. Not to mention they were encouraged to do so because of all of the anti-Fat Cat rhetoric the Dems started pumping out in the MSM.

Remember the phrase "Predatory Lending"???

I had a loan pending in 06' and ended up closing in 07' with almost no money down on some apartments and when the Dems took charge in 07' they changed the underwriting requirements so that I had to come up with 20% which resulted in an increase of around $52,000 in my down-payment. I almost lost the properties.

You need a civics lesson in separation of powers. There is no way that Party A is 'in control' while Party B still holds the executive branch, i.e., the presidency.

I think you learn that in elementary school.

Read the Constitution. The President is Commander in Chief and signs the bills....issues executive orders....but Congress holds the purse strings and provides oversight. They run the banking industry.

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. Look into their duties.

Congress can cause so much hell if they want to.....and they had no incentive to solve problems while Bush was President....but they had plenty of incentive to screw everything up.

The economy was in great shape but once the Dems took control it went into the tank quickly.

All it took was a few changes in banking regulations and wala...we have a crisis.

Obama can't blame Bush for the simple fact that nobody trusts the government anymore. That's why jobs are being lost and nobody wants to invest large amounts of cash in anything.

bull crud mud! ;)

Excellent comeback.

You have to give Care the benefit of the doubt since despite all her warped politics she really does Care4all (just ask Mr. Matt!) ...... I'm sure she'll be a loyal Tea Party Member as soon as somebody explains to her what the word "liberal" really means. :p

trying to rewrite the history again I see.

Bush is to blame if any president is to blame.

Tell me just how great the republicans rate in polls compared to Obama?

You just gotta love the asshats who post up graphs of the Bush deficits...................

Except for those who have the political IQ of a marine battery terminal, THIS is the political perception s0ns.................................

Polls do not mean shit.

I am not comparing just proving a point. The Polls in 1938 showed Hitler so Popular the People would do anything for him.

If Truth Matters, just study History and add two and two, the mess we are in was maybe 50% of Bush's fault.

The lack of BO to do anything but spend money and make things horrendous for the next generation to pay for is outrageous.

When Bush screwed up, I called him a moron, get over the blind Party Faith and see what is happening NOW.

I'll tell you on 11/3/2010 then we can both be sad that our nation has sunk to the level of the lowest common denominator, however I'm sure long before then Thomas Jefferson's crusty paw will rise up out of the grave and snatch back that parchment upon which were written some words that you've obviously long forgotten and would do well to try to remember.

How does it feel to be a pro-Bush progressive shoe on the other foot Desh ? Blind Partisanship working out well for ya is it ?

Republicans don't rate well because of several reasons.

One...they have a media that is trying to discredit them

Two....they aren't offering a viable alternative because nobody really knows who is a real conservative or simply a RINO

Three....Congress overall is not highly thought of these days....the GOP included.....but everyone is scared to death of Democrats when they have complete control and the last two years proved it.

wrong.

You guys are in the tank because the American people know you set up this lovely mess we are in with your failed ideas.

You guys are in the tank.

In case you haven't noticed you're in here with us ...........well at least you will be when you land from whatever fantasy land, collectivist utopia you're orbiting this year, but what the heck at least it's warm and we can all oppressed together.

its 2010 s0n............that line of thought is embraced only by the internet mental cases who stay up nights glued to their keyboards and build up 10,000 and 20,000 post awards. They are so OCD about it, they dont even recognize that time is going by.

Thankfully for America, the Independents are wide awake and uber ornery because they realize theyve been bamboozled. You do that to Independents, you might as well drop yourself from a plane onto a telephone poll ass first.:lol:

The republican party ranks much lower than the dems or Obama guys.

How is you turn that into thinking the people will turn to Rs to solve their problems?

Generic Congressional Ballot: Republicans 44%, Democrats 38%
Monday, July 12, 2010 Email to a Friend ShareThisAdvertisement
Republican candidates hold a six-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, July 11.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 44% of Likely Voters would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate, while 38% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Support for both candidates held steady from two weeks ago. Rasmussen Reports did not survey on the question the week before because of the long July 4 weekend.]

While solid majorities of Democrats and Republicans support the candidates of their respective party, voters not affiliated with either party prefer the Republican candidate by a 44% to 25% margin.

Those numbers are gradually changing. The "Blame BOOOOOOOSH" stuff still has a little punch but it's fading fast. This Administration and Dem-led Congress have become a real disaster. They better enjoy that old "Blame BOOOOOOOOSH" stuff while they still can. Time's just about up on that chit.

Being tired fo hearing Bush blamed has nothing to do with if he deserves the blame.

He will get every ounce of the blame he deserves no matter how tired your little heart gets of it.

Yeah....seven years of a growing economy and 4.5% unemployment....
that was hard to take.....we're so much better off now....:cuckoo:

I'm totally against the government spending beyond its means, but the deficit had little to do with the economic collapse. Instead of pointing to Bush or Obama, I would look towards AIG, Chase, Countrywide, Bank of America, etc. Plus toss in the private bond raters that were placing top investment grades on junk securities held by these institutions, securities which these graders themselves saw as not being "worth a shit".
i.e.............point to PHIL GRAMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
