Since murdering children is the ultimate, or just about the worse crime you can commit, do you think anyone who is intent committing this act would worry about breaking a law such as "illegal possession of a firearm" ?

States with the highest percent of gun ownership have the highest rate of gun crime. Cities are always dangerous.

As for breaking the law. If a cop/or series of cops, were to determine that Adam Lanza had broken the law prior to the spree, they be able to have arrested him. Your contention that laws are useless because criminals break them is stone stupid.

The law of common sense that says that if you have military grade weapons and ammo in your house, along with a young man you know is having mental issues, how about using some common sense and either removing the weapons for a while or locking them in a gun safe with no chance of the crazy getting access.

Woman had an income of 300k a year. Wasn't like she couldn't afford the gun safe.
Or mental health treatment for her son.

The percentage of gun ownership is much higher in rural areas , but the crimes committed with guns is much higher in urban areas. This might tell people something. Here is a good article on the hysteria
