Yup. He dodged. I have no idea what white culture is.

No one's bothered to tell me what black culture is either. I've asked. No one can tell me that, either.

I think Beck defines white culture as any culture that hates anyone that isn't white. He's wrong, of course.

Here's a good place to start.

African American culture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Excellent. That answers my question
Wondering About African-American Culture

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we are told we should have open discussions about race, I decided to ask a question about which I've casually wondered for a bit. With all this talk about faux-racism, this popped into my mind again. It's just a curiosity on my part, not much more. I'm not African-American, so I don't know.

I have been told that a significant amount of African-American culture comes from the slavery experience. Bad experiences, to be sure, but certainly ones that make for stronger individuals - the hardest steel comes from the hottest fires - true survivors. It's common that folks say those who have not had this experience cannot fully understand African-American culture, and those who say that are likely correct.

On the other hand, African-American means one who has (usually black) African ancestry.

Obama is an American and has African ancestry, so of course, he is labeled African-American.

But, how can Obama really understand a significant part of African-American culture (as I've been led to believe) without the American slavery experience?

This is not a thread to put anyone on the defensive. I would like to gain a bit more understanding, that's all. I hope that this can be an open an honest discussion so that all can further understand. This is what we should do, IMO, if we want less divisiveness.

So, Obama is NOT part of African American culture.

Yet, the Dems say he is African American.

So, no I still have no idea what black culture is. If I go by Wiki, BHO is not part of the black culture. If I go by the Dems, he is.

The title of this thread is "More glennbeck: Defining white culture ", yet the video is titled, "Glen beck refuses to define white culture". So either is defining it or refusing to define it. Which is it?

I'm not suprised at the contradiction, you fucking liberals have major problems when it comes to being honest.

Wow.

More glennbeck: Defining white culture

There are plenty of things he could've said, but I guess he didn't want to get into the "I believe Obama is a racist" argument that always seems to backfire on everyone (even though he's evidently said something to that effect on his program). He could've quoted Obama from one of his books:

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

"I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela."-

I promised myself that with all the attention given to Glenn Beck that I should listen to his show. I just need to do it. Obviously, he knows how to work the masses for maximum effect.

This is the clip that the question was based on.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxLJVVhcDqE]YouTube - Glenn Beck Calls Obama A Racist On Fox & Friends Morning Show - Pot - Kettle - Maybe? Not?[/ame]

Beck didn't answer the specific 'white culture' question in the OP clip -- I got the impression that he thought Katie was setting him up or something -- because he wanted the questioner to go back and look at the full clip in context and listen to everything he was saying, rather than magnifying one phrase from it.

Hi Article,

That clip sounded more like Glenn Beck defining the Hypocracy that is rife with the media's treatment of Obama. And it sounded like a dodge as he didn't answer the questions what is "white culture"

To answer the question posed in the interview...white culture in america is a combination of the cultures of our white ancestors including German Americans, Irish Americans, English Americans, Italian Americans, Polish Americans, French Americans , Scottish Americans, Scotch-Irish Americans, Dutch Americans, Norwegian Americans, Swedish Americans, and Russian Americans. We white people are very diverse :)

I want to include the cherokee in there as i have a small percentage of cherokee in me, but they weren't "white" so i didn't.

To answer it another way, White culture is American culture, FOR EXAMPLE: (yeah i know all the guys in the vid aren't white but it doesn't matter what color you are)

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD-t6tcBji4]YouTube - I'm American by Stuck Mojo[/ame]

I'm an American related to all colors of brethren
Priests and Pastors and Prophets and Reverends
Divided we fall united we stand together man
In this cultural melting pot there's nothing better than
This land of the free and the home of the brave
Populated by ancestors of immigrants and slaves who met early graves
So we could see brighter days and we could proudly
Praise and raise the stars and stripes as Americans

Hate me
Blame me
You can't shame me
Come and stand with me
I'm American

I'm an American born in these states united
Where racial discrimination keeps us so divided
But we've got free speech so I won't be quiet
We got a lot of problems here man I won't deny it
But ain't another place that I'd rather be
Than in this land of great opportunity
Where we can be anything that we wanna be
So until the day I D-I-E, I stand tall as an American

couric the bitch asked the question, wink wink, with the premise that in today's politically corecct bullshit world that something is wrong in "white culture" well, in reality these days blacks define white culture,, they seem to tell everybody that blacks can use the N word but whites cannot, obama described it when he said his granny was a "typical white person" god knows what would have happened if President Bush had said "you act like a typical black person." it's not too hip hop to be a white male these days, it's just another ploy by that bitch couric and her libral counterparts to lay another track of "white guilt" so somebody fill us in on why it's wrong to be born "white"?

such class at the coronation hey

"whites don't do right
yellow should mellow"

what a load of crap.

you fucking liberalsI
I don't think Article is a Liberal. I could be wrong, but if he is at least he's not a willfully dishonest, blinded partisan hack about it.
Such is my experience with him, anyway. He's not a cult worshiper, or even an Obamaphile.

"Liberal" -- there's absolutely nothing wrong with. I am quite liberal on tons of issues. People throwing that term around when they really mean far-leftist wacko is one of the big semantics issues we have here.

If Article is a liberal at least he's a fair-minded and mostly honest one. And there's nothing wrong with that.
