More funny Republican madness

"My name is Emanuel Zapata -- figuratively speaking, that is. -- What my name is, is LeRoy T. Schaffer. I'm a city councilman from St. Francis, so I'm sort of in a way, in a very small way, an insider. And I'll tell ya, she's right -- we got the best health care in the world! THE VERY BEST!"

Typical liberal gibberish.

Follow the money indeed.

According to opensecrets.org, the Health Sector gave both houses of Congress:
> In the 2004 cycle, $52 million to the GOP and $35 million to the Dems
> In the 2006 cycle, $45 million to the GOP and $29 million to the Dems
> In the 2008 cycle, $54 million to the GOP and $72 million to the Dems
How much of that went to Blue Dogs? Well, lets see:

OpenSecrets | Health Insurers Continue to Woo Blue Dog Democrats in Congress - Capital Eye
Health and accident insurers, HMOs and health services increased their contributions to Blue Dogs by at least 15 percent between the first and second quarter of this year (from $106,200 to $122,650), but by 3 percent to non-Blue Dog House Democrats. Blue Dogs’ stance on health care reform is more in line with that of health insurers and pharmaceutical companies — they oppose a public health plan unless “insurance market reforms and increased competition don’t lower costs on their own,” according to Politico.
So far, based on the total individual contributions that CRP has coded, 7 percent of all donations to the candidate committees and leadership PACs of Blue Dogs this cycle have come from employees and political action committees of the health sector. And health professionals are the second largest donating industry to members of the coalition this cycle, giving $688,250.
From http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2009/08/contributions-from-health-sect.html:
Pharmaceutical and health product companies and health insurance companies (including health and accident insurers and HMOs and health services) increased their contributions 8 percent, while health professionals and hospitals maintained their rate of donations. (Note: As CRP codes more contributions by industry, these figures will likely rise.) Although nursing homes give less than the others overall, this industry ramped up contributions the most at 49 percent, from $278,100 to $413,350.
Michelle, like the blue dogs, are nothing but whores for the industry whose only motive is greed.

As I have already pointed out the man does have a point. In order to pay for the Dems health care boon doggle they are going to reduce already inadequate medicare reimbursement by 25%. There is also a reduction in Social security benefits in the works. So yes the nationalization of health care - a socialist dogma - is going to cost the gentlemen plenty. There is no doubt that medicare is a socialist style program. There is however some doubt that Social Security is. NOt the least of which is that every American is compelled to contribute to what is billed as a retirement plan. The fact that it is in reality a scheme not unlike what Madoff is going to jail for, changes nothing.

Oh, paper you mean they like to be paid for their services? And would like to keep the government out of thier ass as much as possible? Well la di da who'd a thunk it?

Well this thread took an expected turn.

Perhaps the title should be changed to 'More Ravi madness'
No major turn.

A label means less and less these days of paranoia.

Are you trying to say the lefties are against socialism now?

The righties worked so hard to tell us they were for it.

It's all so CON-fusing at times.

LeRoy Schaffer, a St. Francis city council member, dressed in a tuxedo and top hat for the occasion. Shaffer got visibly emotional asking Bachmann about the future of health care and the role of special interests in Washington.
“I’ll be danged if I am going to give up my Social Security because of socialism,” Schaffer said, before being booed by the crowd.
Bachmann Faces Raucous Crowd in Minnesota - Roll Call

Now the true irony here is that this member wants to turn the light towards Minnesota... the state which elected a pro-wrestler as governor... a failed and thoroughly discredited comedian to the Senate; a state whch used the funeral of a socialist legislator as an occasion on which to rest a campaign rally; and the state which elected THE FIRST MUSLIM TO THE US FEDERAL LEGISLATURE IN THE MIDST OF THE US GLOBAL WAR ON Muslim TERRORISM... and somehow project that these folks in Minnesoate, somehow represent something other than everything which she stands for.

HYSTERICAL! (in at least two contexts and on several levels...)

The secrets long since out on Minnesota sis... they're idiots; and isolating specific instances of that idiocy, which is common to Left-think, isn't gonna help ya much. But you feel free to fight the reason...

ROFL!!!

I swear I didn't see this before I posted above

At the same town hall:

"Lifting a stack of news reports about the health care problems in England, Bachmann told a story about women having to give birth in hospital hallways.

One angry male constituent yelled, 'That happens here.' And Bachmann quickly retorted, 'I’ve given birth here probably more times than you, sir.'"

Bachman: The gift that keeps on giving.

The truth is that it does happen here... and it happens here in those places where Leftism reigns supreme.

Which again only demonstrates that what the Left is attempting to do, is to 'fair things up'... Ya see it's not FAIR that there exists, in places that haven't succumbed to the decaying effects of Leftism... viable healthcare which is vastly superior to that produced by the lowest common denominator...

At every point, the entire Leftist argument is that 'X people don't have this or that'... thus the solution is to take from those who DO have it; those who have the MEANS to provide it and give it to those who DO NOT have the means... but who have THE NEED! Aka: Marxism...

Essentially, the Left is saying that they want to strip the system down so that everyone has the same shitty healthcare that is common to that produced by the lowest common denominator; as is typical... The Left lowers the cultural standard to meet the needs of those who aren't able or who refuse to rise to meet the standard.

And at every point, they highlight the failures in the system WHICH THEY CREATED! Such as the 'High cost of healthcare' which is a direct result of government mandated bureaucratic regulations... and of course the costs impact of defending against absurd medical Tort.

It's actually hilarious... but such often stems from the hysterical.

Whenever I read most of your posts, I'm left with the distinct notion I have come about as close as I can ever come to deciphering the mandible-ravaged stems of what is produced by high quality cow cud.
