Blue staters are moving to the south and watering down red states with blue state liberal ideologue, so that means red states are becoming less red and more blue. By 2025, red states will be populated with the largest Hispanic voting populous in the nation. Red States are losing their rightwing dominance with every blue stater who moves there, and with every Hispanic who emigrates. The younger generations are becoming more and more liberal, and moving the nation to the left as they start to vote more. Red States know they may have won the battle in 2010, they are losing the war in the long run:cool:

Your logic is flawed, based on the assumption that the people moving into said red states from blue states are supporters of blue state policies. Perhaps a portion, even a significant portion is people with red state values getting the hell out of dodge.

You also assume societal change is inevitably more liberal, when this is not the case, and also assume more intergated hispanics will remain as reliably liberal voters even as they acclimate to american culture.

What a stupid fucking thread... Not even a moment of thought involved. So now everyone that leaves a “blue state” is a Democrat… More than that with this logic it makes one wonder why a Democrat would leave a Democratic state for a Republican state… Are these Democrats like missionaries out to spread the word of liberalism in Red states or something?

Random roaming liberal: I can’t wait to get to the next red state so I can hate it there and raise my children in a shithole with crappy schools! So happy I left the utopia of Califormnia!

The Left move away from Liberal States because the cost's of those States are to high and then still vote for Dem's.
And they say the right is stupid?

What we know is that people from some blue states are moving to some red ones. What we don't know for certain is why, but whenever it is NOT for political reasons -- when someone moves south for the climate, or because the property is cheaper, or because they got a job offer there, or to retire -- the working hypothesis should be that they will make the red state bluer. That's also true of immigrants coming in from Latin America who become citizens. (Those who aren't citizens of course can't vote and so don't matter electorally.)

While there probably are some political refugees among the north-south migrants, the majority of them probably are moving for non-political reasons, and so we should expect the bluing of the south to result. And that in fact is what we see:

In 2000, G.W. Bush took the entire South in a very close election.

The same happened in 2004.

But in 2008, Obama -- a black Yankee, which should have been electoral poison in the South by itself -- took Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida:

So it is happening, but unfortunately there's still a long way to go. (All you Yankees, pack up your U-Hauls!)

Yeah.. That's EXACTLY what happened in Brooklyn 9th district.. Too many lefties left for Florida.. Leaving the Repubs in charge!

FlaCalTenn left California for Tenn. But Tenn didn't get bluer at all. So you don't actually have any FACTUAL backup for your theory do you??

Whew... all I have to do is find a seat lost in a historically blue area and that would prove you wrong...............................? Do you really wana do this?

Shouldn't this thread be titled something like more people from blue states moving to red states because blue states fucked themselves.

Retirees move south and west for the warmer weather and lower cost of living.

Where do red staters move when they retire?
