    Occasionally, I visit a local message board made up of Cincinnati - area musicians. They're mostly college kids, and - surprise, surprise - the board is overwhelmingly liberal.

    They were hailing Hackett as the second coming of Christ; I wonder what they'll say now.

    Well, in either case, seems the message is wrong. Yet, goes to show one, that the dems are not loyal, not to the candidates or the voters.

    You're so right; political expediency is God. Gore Vidal's (of all people's) indictment of actors seems to apply equally well to Democrats:

    "It is easy for them to pretend to be anything, since they are so clearly nothing".

    "He said he was outraged to learn that party leaders were calling his donors and asking them to stop giving and said he would not enter the Second District Congressional race."

    That's amazing. I don't know Hackett's stance on anything but Iraq, and I guess it really doesn't matter since I'm not from Ohio, but he should go ahead and run as an Independent or with a third party. There's no way I would trust the Democrats after that.
