More blowback against our whiney, immodest, and shamelessly self-promoting president

If I take the time to post a dozen examples of President Obama giving credit to the Navy Seals, Intelligence officers, and military in general for the successful raid on Bin Laden's compound and other military actions, will you post an apology to the man?

If you can show that in the last week or two you might have apoint.
Obama strategy of taking credit for Osama bin Laden killing risky, observers say - The Washington Post

How about an apology from Obama to the military? He seems OK with apologizing to everyone else.

OK. Now you have moved the goalposts. If I provide a number of examples, from the past week or two, of President Obama giving credit to the military for the work our troops do, will you issue an apology to the President for your unsubstantiated claims made in this thread?

It's true that there have been times that obama has whispered credit to those who deserve it. It's when he trumpets that he takes credit himself.

Who'd have thought that the rightwing's crying about it could make the anniversary of Bin Laden's killing an even better event than it is.

The Republicans (Bush) had OBL pined down at Tora Bora and let him escape ... at least this time Obama finished the job.

Really?

You mean Obama was there and made sure OBL didnt sneak out the back door?

Wow. He is like...Rambo!

"Politicizing"- Translation: "We're getting our asses kicked!"

The only reason we're hearing complaints is that they don't want Obama to have any credit at all, not because he hasn't done what any other president would have done, praised the troops and taken well-deserved congratulations. :eusa_boohoo:

Yeah. Unlike the other time. You had Newt Gingrich manning the mortars while Richard Shelby was on commo. Jeff Flake was leading a patrol through the hills. Christie was on KP duty.
Geez.

Can anyone provide NAMES for the SEALs who are supposedly complaining about Obama?
I know plenty of seals since Hubby served with them in the navy. I am not giving their names because why would I broadcast them on the internet. Just know they are NOT happy!

This is what happens with shamless self-promoters.

At least 7 killed in blasts in Afghan capital, as Taliban says attacks a response to Obama's visit | Fox News

KABUL, Afghanistan – A suicide car bomber and Taliban militants disguised in burqas attacked a compound housing hundreds of foreigners in the Afghan capital on Wednesday, killing seven people, officials and witnesses said.

The Taliban said the attack was a response to President Barack Obama's surprise visit just hours earlier.

At least 17 people were also wounded in the assault, most of them Afghan children on their way to school, the Interior Ministry said.

The second major assault in Kabul in less than three weeks, the attack highlights the Taliban's continued ability to strike in the heavily guarded capital even when the city is on its tightest security for a combination of events -- the Obama visit and Wednesday's anniversary of the killing of Usama bin Laden in neighboring Pakistan.

The explosions happened hours after Obama left Afghanistan after a quick visit to mark the first anniversary of Usama bin Laden's death. He spoke to troops and signed a pact with Afghan President Hamid Karzai to govern the U.S. presence in Afghanistan through 2024.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack and said it was planned Tuesday night as a response to Obama's trip.

"This is a reaction to Obama's visit to Afghanistan," Mujahid said, without elaborating.

For all those who think obama will get us out of Afghanistan, bad news, we'll be there for many years to come. As "governors"????? Is Afghanistan now our colony?

After the preparations, the full Obama Administration was in the situation room ready to assist -

at Tora Bora, the US Command order a halt to the US Troops advance and decided for the Afgans to finish the exercise - the Afgans let him escape.

The obama administration was in the situation room (presumably Jay Z and Beyonce had already left) and PRETENDED to be ready to assist in an operation that was OVER.

OK, so now instead of the GOP surrounding Osama we've got the Afghan military letting him escape. That's a little closer to reality.

Looks like Obama wasn't man enough to make a tough decision and take full responsibility for it from the start. He was quick to jump in and take a bow when the SEALS complete the mission successfully. Any guesses on what he would have done if they had failed? Perhaps he'd still be blaming others and would act as if he had nothing to do with it.

Now former Attorney General Michael Mukasey has weighed in. Mukasey makes three important points. First, although Obama approved the killing of bin Laden, he attempted before hand to cover his rear end to an unseemly degree:

A recently disclosed memorandum from then-CIA Director Leon Panetta shows that the president’s celebrated derring-do in authorizing the operation included a responsibility-escape clause: “The timing, operational decision making and control are in Admiral McRaven’s hands. The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the President. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the President for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and if he is not there, to get out.” Which is to say, if the mission went wrong, the fault would be Adm. McRaven’s, not the president’s.

Jealousy is not pretty!!! How you all wish it had been GWB. But he was too dumb. Sorry.

The real blowback against our campaigner in chief isn't going to come from Americans, it's going to come from the taliban as they have to prove that there really is no peace agreement, there is only the spring offensive.

the old Rovian tactic of making a possitive a negative is at work here in the con world.

Another "scraping the bottom of the barrel" thread. I'm gonna need an acronym for these kinds of desperation threads soon.....they are breeding like tribbles.

Maybe your idiot boy would have gotten OBL if he had not diverted to a war built on lies in Iraq to benifit his oil buddies.
