Looks like Obama wasn't man enough to make a tough decision and take full responsibility for it from the start. He was quick to jump in and take a bow when the SEALS complete the mission successfully. Any guesses on what he would have done if they had failed? Perhaps he'd still be blaming others and would act as if he had nothing to do with it.

Now former Attorney General Michael Mukasey has weighed in. Mukasey makes three important points. First, although Obama approved the killing of bin Laden, he attempted before hand to cover his rear end to an unseemly degree:

A recently disclosed memorandum from then-CIA Director Leon Panetta shows that the president’s celebrated derring-do in authorizing the operation included a responsibility-escape clause: “The timing, operational decision making and control are in Admiral McRaven’s hands. The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the President. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the President for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and if he is not there, to get out.” Which is to say, if the mission went wrong, the fault would be Adm. McRaven’s, not the president’s.

The SEALS are also speaking out and they resent being used this way for political gain. I guess you think that Attorney General Michael Mukasey and Leon Panetta are hacks. They are the ones speaking and filling us in on details. Sorry some of you libs are upset at the truth about how things went down.

Can anyone provide NAMES for the SEALs who are supposedly complaining about Obama?

Okay, here ya go.

Ryan Zinke, a former Commander in the US Navy who spent 23 years as a SEAL and led a SEAL Team 6 assault unit, said: ‘The decision was a no brainer. I applaud him for making it but I would not overly pat myself on the back for making the right call.

A serving SEAL Team member said: ‘Obama wasn’t in the field, at risk, carrying a gun. As president, at every turn he should be thanking the guys who put their lives on the line to do this. He does so in his official speeches because he speechwriters are smart.
‘But the more he tries to take the credit for it, the more the ground operators are saying, “Come on, man!” It really didn’t matter who was president. At the end of the day, they were going to go.’

Chris Kyle, a former SEAL sniper with 160 confirmed and another 95 unconfirmed kills to his credit, said: ‘The operation itself was great and the nation felt immense pride. It was great that we did it.
‘But bin Laden was just a figurehead. The war on terror continues. Taking him out didn’t really change anything as far as the war on terror is concerned and using it as a political attack is a cheap shot.

You know what all three of those guys have in common?

They weren't on the Bin Laden raid.

I also suspect they are Republicans - maybe even Obama haters.

I doubt the ones on the raid who are still active are allowed to talk. No one knows the names of those on the raid, so can't say whether these guys were there or not. However, it's interesting to hear what their fellow SEALS have to say about it. Even though many cannot make any public statements, I don't doubt they talk to their friends and this gives us an idea of the sentiments being expressed. Obama often uses the word "I" and tends to forget to thank those who actually did the job. Obama really had no choice but to allow the search mission to continue. He didn't come up with the idea and merely had to give the okay, which apparently he did only after ensuring his own butt was covered, you know, like all good leaders do. Not.

Well yeah he's the president isn't he, the face of our nation our leader, so if our armed forces, who are under him as he is Commander and Chief, do something great he should get some some praise, or would it be too much to say that Lincoln won the war, where do you draw the line? And obviously he is taking all the bad listen to all you anti-obamians, is it really too much to give him a little credit...reallly?

Isn't he the republican from montana who has already exploited his FORMER position for political gain??
Mr Zinke, who is now a Republican state senator in Montana

Now why did you leave that out?

So how can you trust the partisan OPINIONS of a former seal who was not part of the team that actually followed through with obama's orders?? How is obama using these people when they are not even part of the team that completed the mission?

SO no name?? Got it. An anonymous source, imagine that. The fact is that it does matter who was president because W back out on going after bin laden in tora bora and romney initially stated that attacking within pakistan was wrong. SO thanks for the propaganda.

yet another FORMER seal who apparently has to brag about his "career" even though mcian stated that real heros don't do that. LOL

this is the same propaganda that has been shredded in another thread but thanks for showing us how republicans can't think for themselves.
