Your cows all be mine;

"In a decision denying basic property rights and even exceeding the FDA’s contempt for the rights of private contract and food freedom of choice, Dane County Circuit Court Judge Patrick J. Fiedler has issued an order holding that owners of cows do not have a fundamental right to consume milk from their own cow."
Wisconsin Judge Rules No Right to Own a Cow or Drink Its Milk | Food Freedom

This is going past farce. It is my cow. If I want to drink the milk...well, you can pry my cow out of my cold dead hand.

The source is questionable. Would like to see this from a more trusted news source.

That aside, this seems like headline grabbing to me, which is taking the story out of context. As I read it, the judgment was that the people in question operate a business open to the public, which is legally regulated by the state, and that they had the right to ignore those state regulations if using privately owned property within that business, based on a series of supposed "fundamental rights." The judge ruled that there were no such "fundamental rights" as they pertained to the operation of their business under lawful regulations.

Here's an example that might make better sense. Let's say you have a business, a casino. Now, you have a right to gamble, generally speaking. But your business is legally regulated by state law. It just so happens that state law prohibits a casino owner or operator from gambling in one's own casino. But you decide that you will take money from the casino vault, sit down at the table, and start gambling away. Do you really think that the court will entertain your defense that you have a "fundamental right" to spend your own money, thus you are not subject to the state's regulations? Of course not.

This whole milk problem stems from the tuberculosis plauge of the early 20th century.

As tuberculosis is a communicable disease, and one that one can get from unpasturized milk, these laws still exist.

As is having the taxpayer take care of you after you've given yourself TB.
