Addendum: Briefed Altered Vision/Version

A gypsy woman wanted to make a Frankenstein version of a 'Cupid crusader.' She approached two brothers and convinced them to battle for her affections. The two brothers did so, and one named Eli because a cutthroat saboteur. Eli was never the same again. He believed his acts of ruthlessness were justified by love.

Eli opened a saloon in Boston. One regular customer was a feared crimelord who kept in his company a cunning and morally eschewed mistress named Wendy. Eli and Wendy became fast friends and decided to recruit two more people from Boston to form a pickpocket gang. They recruited two thugs named Jerry and Tobe and called their gang the Know-it-Alls.

The Know-it-Alls were responsible for various bizarre acts of pickpocketing across the streets of Boston. As the Boston police department got wind of their actions, certain members of the force became frustrated and turned to vigilantism styled law enforcement to decode the identity of the Know-it-Alls.

A society critic working for a a prominent Boston journal wrote that the city was being spiritually controlled by the 'Hobgoblin.' He soon became a writer for Marvel Comics.
