Mitt Romney's Plan For A Stronger Middle Class

Granted.. this of course is website pitch material.. and not all is bad... and I HOPE we get some details, details, details... but he could do much better in this plan
I absolutely agree.

This giant pile of petro industry giveaways does not help a damned thing domestically except the bottom lines of Exxon-Mobil. I wonder how many new tax breaks he intends to frost this manure cake with?

Care to enlighten us what Obama has done for domestic energy production? How did that Solyndra project work out?

Only fools believe we have a bright future in the fossil energy business. In the short term domestic production is up but we all must come to terms with the fact that there is no way to be energy independent with oil/gas/coal alone which is exactly what the fossil fuel industry want you to think.

Until we have developed something to replace them, we still need to develop the fossil fuel resources we have available. Doing so will create jobs for today and provide capital for future energy development. It's a shame that Obama doesn't understand that and doesn't seem to realize that if we're paying such high prices for fuel, then we don't have money for other things. How are gas prices where you're at?

Trying to sell increased domestic oil production as a job generator is fine, there is a case to be made for that, but trying to sell it as a path to energy independence or cheaper fuel totally ignores the reality of how oil is bought and sold on the world market and how screwed we are in any effort to change that.

Domestic production will increase supply which will drive prices down including speculative inflation.

No it won't, we could not produce enough domestically to make a dent in the world supply not to mention that the price per barrel needs to be about where it is now to even make it profitable.

• Increase access to domestic energy resources

How'd that work out for you last time?

• Approve the Keystone XL pipeline
the skills to suCCeed

On what route? Are you just going to kiss Canada's ass, and use the cheapest? Or are you at all concerned with safety and environment issues. It's not like piping oil sands has been shown to be all that safe, and the environmental impact of a spill is far worse than a crude spill.

Oh wait. You're now saying that we'll achieve energy independence by importing more oil from Canada?????

• Immediately reduce non-security discretionary
spending by five percent

I guess math isn't a strong suit of Mitt's. A 5% cut in non-security defense spending is a fart in the ocean. It will further be dwarfed by his proposed 10 year, trillion dollar, increase in defense.

Give states responsibility for programs that they can
implement more effectively

You mean like Obama was doing with reviewing state requested waivers in welfare to work, and you lied through your teeth about?

Looks more like a bunch of bumper stickers, embedded in bullshit to me. So how is he planning on giving rich people a bigger tax break and reducing the deficit?

What strong arm tactics are you referring to? I wasn't aware, other than ObamaTax of where any individual had to do business with a corporation unless they chose to.
