In the interview with Brian Williams, the following exchange occurred:

WILLIAMS: "On things however like Aurora, Colorado, do you see why Americans get frustrated at politics. They can see and hear your words from earlier in their career, people are hurting out there. Perhaps they want to start a national conversation about whether an AR-15 belongs in the hands of a citizen, whether a citizen should be able to buy 6-thousand rounds off the internet. You see the argument?"

ROMNEY: "Well this person shouldn't have had any kind of weapons and bombs and other devices and it was illegal for him to have many of those things already. But he had them. And so we can sometimes hope that just changing the law will make all bad things go away. It won't. Changing the heart of the American people may well be what's essential, to improve the lots of the American people."

So...

...who wants to explain what Romney is talking about? What weapons shouldn't he have had? What did he buy illegally?

And what 'changing the heart of the American people' is going to make things better?

What, in short, is he talking about?????????

Willard is an idiot. He likely thinks the nation has an assault weapons ban like he implemented as governor.

i am thinking he is talking about the explosives in the apartment, and he is palinising as well. "Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too"

Governor Romney is in a real bind. He lacks any real base with the radical conservatives, and cannot defend his record on the type military weopons the fruitloops choose in their murderous rampages. Once again, he is caught between an admirable previous position, and his present position attempting to appease the far right in the GOP.

Romney's a money man. I don't think he cares much about issues that aren't money issues.

Why can't Liberals read? Why?

I know that they almost never read the article they link to, but when you refuse to read quotes you post in the OP it has to be total illiteracy as the only explanation.

had the OP read this:

ROMNEY: "Well this person shouldn't have had any kind of weapons and bombs and other devices and it was illegal for him to have many of those things already. But he had them. he never would have posted this:
So...

...who wants to explain what Romney is talking about? What weapons shouldn't he have had? What did he buy illegally?

Dems 2012: because a mind is a terrible thing

Why do you show off your strong ignorance by calling everyone that doesn't agree with Willard "liberals"?

NYCarb is a Liberal and unlike you he's usually a decent guy

Dunno what the laws are where you live but explosive weapons are illegal here. And helping those who have it in their heart to kill might prevent needless deaths.

His comments explain themselves. If those were too complicated for you to understand then politics is certainly out of your league.

He admitted when guns are banned bad people still get them. Good for him.

Drugs are illegal but it's sure easy to get any drug you want so banning guns will not stop people from buying them.

And Romney was talking about the incendiary devices in the apartment.

Not for nothing but your avi is classified as an incendiary devise

Man, they are really getting pathetic. Take this thread. Just add "curious" to its title and, bingo, another phony attempt by the desperate lefties to try to stir something up to keep the focus off their House idiot.

Statement seems kind of obvious to me. It's illegal to have explosive devises like Holmes had in his apartment. Romney is pointing out that passing a law isnt going to fix the problem. Only changing hearts and minds will.

Romney is in the same shape as Barrack. He is panding to both sides. We need someone with a plan and the back bone to back it up and he is not it, but he is still better than Obama.

What on earth in this story indicates he is pandering?

That is what I believe he said also, why is it that difficult to understand?

Whats so strange about it?

Bomb making is illegal,if his heart had been in the right place, this wouldn't have happened

No amount of laws affect the lawless until they are caught.
