They're claiming delay but may also be testing the waters have picked up momentum in Texas, Kentucky and Alabama

JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi's attorney general directed circuit court clerks in the state to delay granting marriage licenses to same-sex couples, an hour after the U.S. Supreme Court said gay couples have a right to marry in all 50 states....In Louisiana, Attorney General James "Buddy" Caldwell said in a statement that the Supreme Court's decision had nothing requiring it to be effective immediately. Louisiana GOP Gov. Bobby Jindal, who announced Wednesday that he is running for president, also said that the issue trampled on states' rights and vowed that he would never stop fighting for religious liberty... La. Miss. officials drag feet on issuing same-sex licenses

We'll see if they roll over and piss on themselves over Friday's unconstitutional/overreach legislative "ruling"..

Texas, Kentucky and Alabama already conceded that they will honor the USSC ruling.

You're in the bargaining and denial phase of your loss. Where you are trying to convince yourself of elaborate comforting lies. The reality is far simpler and colder:

You lost.

I guess those other threads of yours with the exact same subject were not getting the traffic you desired. Better start another one!

Didn't these southern idiots study history? Can't they recall federal troops enforcing the law in Little Rock, in Montgomery, in Birmingham? Why must the most socially ignorant, the most assured in their own superiority, the most repressive folks first all congregate in the south and then be forced to do the most patriotic things Americans should do: extend freedom and liberty to all citizens?

"Nevertheless, regardless of the status of the case before the Fifth Circuit, Obergefell is the law of the land. If a clerk has issued or decides to issue a marriage license to a same sex couple, there will be no adverse action taken by the Attorney General against that circuit clerk on behalf of the State. In such cases, it might be wise to advise same sex applicants that the validity of a marriage licenses issued prior to the stay being legally lifted might be contested in any potential divorce action or in future estate proceedings. On the other hand, a clerk who refuses to issue a marriage license to a same sex couple could be sued by the denied couple and may face liability. Whatever course you decide to take, you should consult with the county board attorney about the issuance of licenses in light of the Supreme Court's opinion on Friday."

Its part tantrum and part civil war fantasy. Where some of them actually believe that the millennials are going to rise up in an anti-gay rebellion....because Cletus and Bubba don't like homosexuals.

since they are already dead that would be impossible, besides how do you kill deceased douche bags any way?

The baffling aspect of all this anti-Gay stupidity is, these idiots actually know homosexuals personally. As neighbors, as business associates, as family and friends.

But their incredibly warped sense of self righteousness provides some ethical aegis behind which the continue to wish to deny basic civil rights to those they know. Their fellow American citizens.

At that point the National Guard is commanded by the Feds, dumbass. National Guard of the United States - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

As in: "On September 24, 1957 President Dwight D. Eisenhower federalized the entire Arkansas National Guard in order to ensure the safe entry of the Little Rock Nine to Little Rock Central High School the following day. Governor Orval Faubus had previously used members of the guard to deny the students entry to the school."
