Making light of a serious situation is how I handle things. Better than sitting around bitching, feigning more concern than the next guy to get a check in the partisan hack block.

You overplay the importance of family members of servicemembers in an all-volunteer military. The servicemembers make their choices. Yes, it is a loss, but the family members have no right o play victim, nor do you have the right to claim the victim's role for it.

Had I been killed in Kuwait or Iraq and my mother carried on the way Cindy Sheehan and some other family members do, I'd come back from the dead just to tell her to STFU and quit dishonoring MY -- not her -- service.
