Miss California - Marriage Between A Man And A Woman

I find it interesting that no one has a problem with Perez calling her a "Dumb Bitch" and then threatened to "rip her tiara off her head."

Perez’s anger carried into his tweets for the rest of the night, he ended with this one, “I’d rather be fugly (and fat) than go through my life a pea-brained moron. Pretty fades, stoopid is forever!”

Class act that Perez.

He's a complete tool, but I don't really care about him. He can say what he wants.

He can say what he wants but Miss California can't?

Get the quote right sparky.

I'm still waiting to see where she used the word "ban."
In the context in which she used the phrase, saying that you want this or that "in your country" is tantamount to saying that it should be protected by law.

Why do you have a problem with someone speaking their mind - telling others what their "choice" is?
Strawman. Who the hell said I did?

Where'd I say that?

WOW, what a crazy thread. Some serious communication breakdowns going on. I can see what Kalam is saying... does nobody else find it funny, how she said what she said? It almost seems to me like she was just gonna say "Oh its great that people have a choice" but then she decided she was gonna say it: "but I think it should be between a man and a woman."

Cuz yeah, I'm sure you guys see how funny the phrase sounds, if any of you saw the video

"'Well, I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman."

I think she might've meant to say BUT instead of AND... cuz yeah, look at that "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage" BUT "in my family marriage should be between a man and a woman." The way she says it, especially that "in my country" is what would throw someone off.

Then again, we're talking about a beauty contestant. Chances are she barely knows half of what she's talking about "Ummm I think I believe I think...."

Yeah.

You are kidding. Please tell me you are kidding.

Go back and read EVERYTHING you have posted.

I didn't insult YOU in the least. I merely said your reading/comprehension skills seem to be sadly lacking.

That's completely nonsensical. If I suggest that you "seem to be sadly lacking" intellectually, in the area of reading comprehension, etc., I'm insulting you.

I started insulting you when you implied that I shouldn't be part of this discussion
I implied that I didn't ask for your opinion regarding my level of reading comprehension. Where did I tell you to leave the discussion? Did I not respond to one of your other points?

Oh, and that "dumb bitch" managed to get under your skin, and some gay guys. Big fucking deal.
Not really, I simply believe that she's poor at choosing her words. I could give a shit what she thinks about homosexuals or about any other political issue.

To what Perez Hilton said - "He can say what he wants."

Your entire argument here is that Miss California can't say what her choice is.

Actually, my argument was that her choice of words was stupid. I never said that she couldn't say whatever the hell she wants.

Ohhh....ok.

We are all wrong then.

If that makes you feel better.

Prejean, a blonde student, was one of the favorites to win the Miss USA title at the pageant held on Sunday at the Planet Hollywood hotel and casino in Las Vegas and shown live on TV.

Having negotiated earlier rounds of modeling in a swimsuit and evening gown, she was down to the final 15 and had to answer a single question from one of the panel of five judges.

Prejean picked celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who is openly gay and calls himself 'queen of all media'.

Hilton asked her :'Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?'

Prejean paused for a moment before replying: 'Well, I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage.'

She continued: 'And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman.

'No offence to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be - between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.'

Perez called her a dumb bitch and said he would rip her tiara off if she had won.

My question is this. Was she so wrong to say this?

Who was more wrong? Her to say how she felt or Perez to call her a dumb bitch?

It was a stupid fucking question to ask in the first place. Asking beauty constestants political question like gay marraige is inane.

Why?

Because its a beauty contest, not a debate. It'd be like asking do you think a woman that's been raped should be able to get an abortion or should Israel be able to discriminate on the basis of religion or something equally as divisive.

yup, it was a setup question

Same sex marriages happen to be a country-wide hot topic right now. If Israel's discrimination on the basis of religion was just as hot a topic, it's likely she would have been asked about that.

Simply put, she was asked her personal opinion on a rather touchy subject, she gave it, and some gay fuck crucified her for it, rather than just sucking it the hell up and treating it as the difference of opinion it is.

actually her words were good. she supports the right of states to choose, and for them that is their right, for her and where she is from, no, she would not believe that. think about it, she is trying to answr the question for an american audience/judges and to address her home country

decent answer
