DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Hamas politburo chief Khalid Mishaal met Monday evening in Damascus with Russian envoy to the Middle East and North Africa Sergei Vershinin.
The high-profile Russian diplomat was there to show Russian interest in current developments in the region, and emphasize its confidence in the people's ability to achieve self-determination through peaceful means. He also gave Russia's view on the impact the developments will have on key regional problems, including the Arab-Israeli conflict.
He confirmed that Russia is keen on clarifying its views on some of those developments to Hamas and listening to Hamas's stand and opinions on how recent events will play out in the region.
